Lil Wayne in Critical Condition

Hes actually smart as hell, just sucks at rapping and doesn't learn from mistakes

No, he's really not. He throws around a lot of big words, but that does not make him smart. In his long rants, if you actually pay attention he just rambles and at no point ever comes to a logical conclusion. The guy probably just scrolls through a thesaurus and a dictionary from time-to-time to "wow" people.

Why do they make thesauruses? For people smart enough to use one? And when did rap need a "logical conclusion"? As a matter of fact, your post does not have a logical conclusion. How ironic....

Yeah, and this country is filled with people who put talentless hacks in the top ten week in and week out. This is a poor way to support your argument.

Wayne has released good material before. He doesn't anymore. He probably won't again. However, he'll probably still enjoy success. Pop chart success in this country is hardly gauged by talent.

And pop charts or not, artists are judged by sales. He sells.

The last one I bought had a cut entitled "hold on to my receipt". Jammed that one relentlessly. Wish I could find it now. Not a huge LW fan. But it no way is he a "bad" artist. He is actually one of the best to do it. For nearly 20 years. Decent career huh?

This was a great breakdown that absolutely does nothing for the world.

Well done sir. I thoroughly enjoyed this while thinking "Man, he must have been damn bored."

I'm on my last day of spring break. I never thought I'd say it but I'm READY for some school. I miss writing comparative essays in my literature courses...

Not a big fan, but 3peat is the ****.

His work from about... 2002 to 2008 was above average. Then he tried that hard rock album, which was still better than nickleback so at least he did that. But when you talk 3 peat, All I ever think is the best line in that whole song

***** swallow my words, taste my thoughts, And if it's too nasty, spit it back at me.

I don't care who you are, thats a top level one liner.

but to the argument about sales equaling good? Jay Z said it best on Moment of Clarity

"If skills sold, truth be told, I'd probably be, lyrically, Talib Kweli."

Most overrated rapper ever. Aside from a couple lines a song, its a bunch of nonsense. He doesn't tell a story, his delivery is adequate at best, lyrically he's average. He doesn't write down his raps, which explains plenty. Hate to sound like a deek but the truth is the truth. Comparing him to Pac, Big, Nas etc is laughable. He sounds like a chipmunk sucking on helium. Saying he is one of the greats because of charts is more laughable. Hammer had more billboard hits than Nas, who is the better lyricist? That being said I hope he is alright.

Anyone arguing that he's a good rapper needs to go listen to the Chris Brown song where Lil Wayne raps after Busta Rhymes. Really. Listen to that song and then tell me those two belong in the same category.

Busta is probably the most underrated rapper out there talent-wise. People always gave Twista all this credit for being able to rap fast. IMO Busta could rap circles around Twista and do it twice as fast.

I personally could give a **** how fast they could rap. I'd rather be able to actually understand what they're saying

While I think that Lil Wayne's voice is as annoying as fingernails on a chalkboard, he is evidentally doing something right
