LIO Talks Rasslin

I think Flair had several.....begging for his life....or calling timeout....all followed with either a gouge to the eyes or an arm right between the legs.

I love the test of strength moves.......especially when someone would kick the other guy in the stomach.....

Or better yet a pose off.....ala Rick Rude and the Ultimate Warrior!

Classic!

She collects rasslin tights for her husband to wear on special occasions.
The best tights of all time were the ones Rude had with the picture of Jake Roberts' wife airbrushed on the crotch. That was classic mental warfare.

My husband would KILL you for that. :birgits_giggle: He won't even wear my house shoes to go get the mail.

The crazy thing is Rude and Perfect grew up in the same neighborhood in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.

That's tough. At the end of the day, I'll go with Flair. Eddie Gilbert, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude, HHH, Shawn Michaels, and the ECW version of Shane Douglas also receive consideration.

shane douglas, interesting.

i was always a stone cold fan myself. never seen anyone pump up a crowd like him. towards the end though, the whole "WHAT" thing got old.

I have never really been able to get into the whole HHH thing. Can't really explain why.

he looks like his bung hole is about to blow out 24/7. he is way to big. how does he not pull muscles every time he speaks i havent figured out yet!!!!

i also liked dusty rhodes, ultimate warrior, sting, lex luger from the early 90s, steiner brothers, shawn micheals, bret hart in his prime was great, mick foley was a good gimmick, terry funk was crazy, jake the snake was just fun to watch, and ric flair is probably the greatest heel of all time. and i cant forget ricky steamboat

HHH was really hurt by the departures of Austin and The Rock. He hasn't really had anyone around to have a classic feud with in some time. Guys like Cena, Edge, etc., don't really cut it. Flair's too old for a prolonged feud and everyone knows he and HBK are like brothers. The only guys who could possibly sell a feud with the Game now are Orton and Angle. Lack of a true rival hurts any great wrestler's legacy.

anyone remember the great muta??? huge in japan, had a few appearances on the old nwa. was a damn good wrestler.
Muta was a bigger, better version of Rey Mysterio. Muta and Arn Anderson had some classic TV Title matches in the day.

lack of new stuff and new fans is killing him. one of the last great wrestlers left who isnt over 50.

Good point. I think that's the reason for the DX revival. They're trying to make he and HBK hip again.

For me he is danged if he does or danged if he doesn't. When The Rock, Flair, or Austin were around he was in their shadow. Now the show is his for all practical purposes, and he still doesn't keep my attention. He is just not that interesting to me.

I see your point though. When those guys were around giving the extrodinary interview all he had to do was play heel and fight, two things he does very well. It could be that the whole Steph. Mc. thing turned me off. I always thought he got a lot more push than he earned.

I disagree for one reason. There was really nobody else there to push. As great as Angle and Benoit are, they're both charismatically limited. Orton is too young. Edge is an idiot. Flair and HBK just can't go every night anymore. Once SCSA and Rock departed, HHH was really the only guy they could turn to for legitimate heat. As an aside, I'm not going to rip a guy for bedding down with a fairly attractive young millionairess.

The ECW revival is only going to work if they go back to the original formula. The first few weeks have been bad WWE interpretations of what ECW was. They have to cut Heyman loose and let him do it his way. Do the shows from bingo halls and small theaters. That's what ECW is all about.
