Lipscomb dismisses top 3 point shooter in D-I

He'll go to the league still. If you are elite at one thing, the NBA will find a spot for you, regardless of how much you screwed up in college.

Kid was probably at a girls house instead of behind the walls of Lipscomb as commanded by it's Church of Christ beliefs.

Church of Christ people can be as bad as a cult. Not all of them. The ones I see at the liquor store are pretty cool.

Thought I saw you there.

Is he good enough to even get a try out? Hell, Lofton was lights out and couldn't make it. I'd be surprised if some kid from Lipscomb makes it.

Eh, Lipscomb is very loose when it comes to your conservative church of Christ ideas. They're not as much that as they were thirty years ago. I don't think that it was anything like being in a girls dorm. Probably nothing that wouldn't get you kicked out of any other private school.

Too much hippy lettuce would be the most likely vice that got him in trouble. You're kidding yourself if you think he'll get a shot in League. Really nice guy though, hate to see this happen to him whatever he did.

I wasn't sure which post was more inaccurate.. This one or the one saying he'll still go to the league, assuming the league being referenced is the NBA.

He didn't get dismissed for being in a girls dorm or liquor store. He also won't play in the NBA but his basketball career isn't over. Burgy is a good dude, hate that it happened. 10 weeks from graduation too.

there's a fine line between joke and stupid post. Sure didnt read that way

Whatever. It was just a joke. The liquor store joke has been around for a long time, but usually references seeing a Baptist in the liquor store, not C of C. Back in the day at Lipscomb, students had to be on campus by 10 pm or get in trouble.

My guess is that you are Church of Christ and got a little defensive this morning. Why aren't you at church?

I'm C of C and I knew Spart was just joking. We catch a lot of flack for being strict but that was more so back in the 50s, etc. My whole family went to Lipscomb and they do have some pretty silly rules IMO. C of C has gotten much more liberal over the years, or at least I have. Definitely not a cult, but try to follow the bible to a T

I knew someone like you could roll with it SDV. I grew up Southern Baptist. We weren't allowed to dance. The first thing a kid does is start dancing to music when they feel the beat, yet they were telling us it was evil.

Hilarious.

My grandmother came to my wedding in SD and my uncle asked me to dance with her. After she went back to her table she told him, I hope the people from church don't find out I was dancing. Lol

I've not seen the kid play. but if he leads the NCAA in three point shooting and he's over 6'3, he will be taken by some team. Anything else doesn't matter.

Ask Jeremy Lin about where small schools and being elite at one thing will get you.

I really wish we would drop the silliness about not capitalizing the c in church. It just looks silly.

Haha he isn't going to the league.

I see you saying "he won't." I never said he will, I gave a conditional. If he's tall enough that's all that matters.

Go on and be uneducated about how the NBA looks at players, in terms of potential. If he has the physical tools to do it, then his shooting will get him in if he's that good, or at least get him looked at.

Unless you're actually going to use logic to argue what I'm saying outside of "haha he won't go lol" then there's no use even replying, don't waste anyone's time with useless posts.

Haha I know the guy personally. I've probably seen 40+ of his collegiate games. Keep bringing your logic to the table, please.
