After cooling off and taking many deep breaths, I rewatched the game and realized apart from the 2nd quarter, we outscored the gators and dominated them in the second half. Guys could have quit after Florida put up 26 unanswered but came out and fought. If we hit that 4th and 1 (PUT JOE UNDER FREAKIN CENTER) before the ref kicked the ball and allowed gators to sub, we would have scored, a fg at minimum, which would have put the game at 26-10 or 26-14 with plenty of time remaining. Then we still connect on that Bru td with 8 left in the 4th and the later fg, we’re looking at 26-24 or 26-20 at the worst. Gators qb was hurt and reeling. More situational awareness and overall football iq, it’s a much different ballgame.

Hadden is an embarrassment in every aspect of the db game. He only plays well in run support when his responsibility is containment. His coverage and awareness is suspect at best. I keep watching for the moments of brilliance that the coaches see in him.

His tackling is average. Pass coverage below average due to his simple lack of awareness and his run support is below average unless he is in containment.

Furthermore, he is a headcade that causes unnecessary penalties.
And he is a transfer. He left Aubie due to some type of issue - whether good or bad I guarantee ya they were glad to rid themselves of him. He is just not a good db period.

Slaughter being out certainly didn't help. He's really the only one that we have that had any ball skills with jumping routes. Hadden is terrible. I've never genuinely disliked a UT player, but I hate him. He is terrible and he cannot play any major snaps if we plan on winning 9+ games.

Guy talks so much trash after he gets beat. I don't get it.

Get Rickey Gibson and Jordan Matthews some playing time this week. May as well get their feet wet. Somebody deserves some chances. GBO
I'm for it. Brings up a question. We bring in guys like this that probably play a lot off instinct and raw talent at the high school level. So clearly the coaches recruiting these kids must love their instincts and aggressive play. Do we coach that out of them once they get here and just coach system? "Run with receiver, watch eyes, wave hands in front of face when eyes get big. Hope you knock the ball away by pure accident."

Coach is trying to give the senior qb as much leash as possible, being this is his last
shot at making the next level. I can see Milton starting until after the UTSA game, and then
decision time. If Milton is average or below in first half, then maybe make a change at the half, depending on
the score.
Making the next level? Maybe If he’s in Scientology but certainly not the NFL.

Yeah it figures Florida always manages to have their main players eligible when they play us and we suspend our best for Florida. Not condoning just stating the irony. Spurrier even suspended players after our game one time. Guess he thought it would hurt them more if they missed against Bethune-Cookman!

I think we will do enough to beat UTSA because they shouldn't be able to stop our run game, but at home vs South Carolina will be pivotal. We are going to have to score some points because no matter how porous the Gamecocks offensive line is, and how poor their rushing attack is, Rattler will put a decent amount of points on the board. He can escape and our DBs still can't cover anyone. If Milton struggles against them, and the offense sputters we may see a change because we would have 2 weeks to prepare for A&M at home. I hope it doesn't come to this as it would be preferable to me if Milton and the offense elevate their game, because frankly it may be entirely too soon for Nico.

If I am Heupel I tell Willie I want our DB’s looking up for the ball. And if he didn’t coach what I wanted at this point I would let him go. We aren’t creating any turnovers on D and that is a concern. And when your not coached to find the ball when you are right there with the receiver you aren’t going to get many interceptions. When your running right with the guy you always need to be looking to make a play on the ball. Not looking for the ball almost always gets you a penalty because you usually look lost.

I would say he is a below average tackler. And I am being nice.
