Looking towards Georgia

I’ve been saying this since the Spring, before we all knew that we would be this run heavy. The only way we win is RUNNING THE FOOTBALL. We tried last season, couldn’t do it . WE HAVE TO RUN. Only way we win.

I think your Dawgs are gonna be in for a shock coming into Neyland in a few weeks. Heup has this team peeking at the right time. Milton is finally healthy and bullying defenders in the run game. Y'all don't have anyone who can stop him. Heup has been preparing for yall's defense since Spring. I expect 34+ put on your D. If the long ball is connecting, 42+.
whoa. pump the breaks. I didn't say anything about that. I said we win. Not punk them. We will be luck to break 23 points. This has to be a relatively low scoring game for us to win. We have to hold them to under 20 points.

All I know is that I am a huge Missouri fan this week against Georgia. If they beat Georgia and we beat Missouri then Georgia comes to Knoxville with the SEC East on the line
If I shot a 1 on every hole, I would shoot an 18!!

So the best defense would be a good offense that wins TOP so the Bulldogs stacked offense is on the field less time.

The Volunteers have a realistic chance of winning the game if they can prosper running the football so that winning top is achievable, and if they can score valuable points in the 1st half so that the Volunteers don’t need a great comeback in the second half.

Not saying it can't happen, but Milton will need to have the game of his life, plus the Vols get a couple turnovers to be in a position to win IMO. Last year, the Georgia D held Hendon to 195 yds passing, his season low. No doubt, Heupel will pull something out of his bag of tricks.

Expecting to put up 34+ on the Dawgs defense is asking A LOT.

For perspective, Georgia hasn't given up 30 points in a regular season game since 2017 (6 seasons ago).

For argument sake, IF and that's a big IF, the Vols can score 30+, can their secondary slow down Carson Beck's passing game?

Dawgs are averaging over 40+
So, it's not looking good for my Vols after yesterday's games, but I still believe. We need some Neyland magic, but uga will be looking ahead to bama. There's still a chance for a miracle W.

Georgia (as many as they want to score) Vols 14 if we play really well. If this was a horse race they will be riding Sea Biscuit and we are on Algebra the mule. Going to be a very long day.

At this point today the team should be totally disgusted at it’s performance. The only way to remedy that is to go play 4 quarters of good tough focused football next Saturday. At this point beating Georgia is the only way for redemption. And no matter what playing with pride and intensity in front of the home crowd. After this up and down year what a great rewarding victory would it be to beat Georgia and be the team to end their winning streak in Neyland Stadium! GBO

You were a little nervous after the first play right?

Disappointed yes, nervous no.

The opponent has scored on Georgia on the first drive in something like 4 of the last 5 games.

It's extremely rare for Georgia to give up a running explosive play like that, so it was something of an anomaly.

Would have been scarier if Milton threw a 75 yd TD to Squirrel to open the game.

But... Milton is who we thought and teams need elite QB play to beat Georgia.
