2. Michigan (1)
3. Florida
4. USC
5. Arkansas
6. Notre Dame
7. Rutgers
8. West Virginia
9. LSU
10. Louisville
11. Texas
12. Wisconsin
13. Boise State
14. Wake Forest

16. Oklahoma
17. California
18. Georgia Tech

22. Tennessee

I dont want to hear any garbage about last year, it just makes me sick that Tennessee is looking up in the rankings at Boise State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, and four SEC teams. For all of the Fulmer acolytes, you should be very proud of the state of our program.

uhhhhhhh, maybe because the football team is his responsibility

so basically we can break down our forum into three threads? Men's Basketball, the state fulmer has our football team in, and a chavis thread?

This is a top 25 thread. Rex can do nothing about the fact that the Vols are at the bottom looking up. It is the state of the program.

i figured since the BCS train left a long a time ago, as well as the Heisman, those threads would need to be moved to an OT forum

Nevermind that we are AHEAD of Nebraska, Georgia, Florida St., and Miami.

See that's the problem with you and people like you.

You only look at one half of the stats, or one half of the issue. (The one that attempts to prove your points.)

For every team that has a season above their expectations (Ga Tech and Wake) there are other teams below (Georgia, Miami, Flor. St.). Boise St is a team that plays no one and almost always ends up undefeated this time of year. Unless Tennessee were also undefeated, or only had one loss, they will always be behind a Boise St. type team until they lose their game.

Your arguements hold no weight because you are not rational when looking at the reality of the situation.

Tennessee, a team coming off 5-6 has lost by one point to the number 3 team in the country, lost to the number 5 team in the country on the road, and lost to the number 9 team in the country by 4 on a last second play.

If you don't see the improvement in that, you're blinded by your own misguided agenda.

12-9 in the last 21 games. There's your reality.

we also barely lost those games last year and it sounds a lot better to say "lost to the number 5 team in the country on the road"... let's word that a little more grammatically correct: "got embarassed by the number 5 team on the road." We weren't good last year, we weren't that good the year before or in 2003. It's been 8 years since we've done anything. Don't just look at our rebound from last year. In those 8 years look how many more BCS opps FSU, Miami, and Georgia have had.

Judging by what I saw in Arkansas, UT is still a second tier SEC team. That is the exact same spot UT was in when Auburn smoked them the the SECCG two years ago. I see no real improvement.

Oh, and instead of saying this team has improved on a 5-6 season, explain how in the heck they went 5-6 in the first place. The entire backfield, and the receivers are all exactly the same, and the OL is arguably not as good as last years. Let us not even begin to talk about how good last year's defense was and how it was completely wasted.

The improvement angle doesn't work with me, because that team should have been an SEC contender in 2005.

LOL

Bill, in 2004 we took a team with two freshman QB's and a third string QB and won 11 games, making it to the SEC Championship Game.

Give me a break.

You people are blinded and don't let a silly thing like FACTS get in your way.

If it does not bother you that this team is no closer to winning the SEC now than they were then, I would rather stay blind than see with your vision.

12-9 in the last 21 games, no SEC titles since '98, and a mere one BCS bowl in that time frame. I believe those are facts. Giving the coaching staff credit for improving on last year is like giving a 350 pound woman credit for losing 25 pounds. One, it's her fault she was overweight in the first place. Two, she's still fat.

I had done a great job of staying out of all the threads like this one. I have no idea why I responded today, but it won't happen again.

You people can only be effective if those of us that don't agree with you, discuss your opinions and debate with you. Without us, you are just a bunch of whiners and complainers talking to yourselves.

Have fun beating each other over the head with your lies and distortions of the truth. You won't have me to rile up any more because I won't read your threads or reply to them. I suggest others like me take the same stance.

As soon as the "discussion" leaves the message board, and it just turns into continual complaining, the powers that be will either do something about it, or lose their membership.

Consider it a win for your cause if you like, but regardless what you people say, I LOVE the Vols, I LOVE going to the games and watching the Vols and I won't let people that aren't even fans of the Vols ruin my time discussing the Vols.

"Lies and distortions?" Please enlighten me. What is our record in the last 21 games? When was the last time UT won an SEC title? How many BCS bowls have the Vols participated in since '98? Nobody is using lies and distortions. They're simply stating, what for you, are uncomfortable truths.

here I am hoping to find ways for me to see why to keep fulmer, but all the so-called "fulmer-ites" tell me is i'm not a fan because i'm unhappy with our product. Why can i only be a fan if i'm happy 24/7 regardless of the fact our program is slip slip slipping away?
