12-9 in the last 21 games. There's your reality.

Of that 12-9 record over the last 21, we are 8-3 of the last 11 games, verses 5-5 the prior 10. Breaking that down that is a .500 win percentage in 10 games verses .727 win percentage the last 11 games for a .227 win percentage improvement from the "halfway" mark of the gmaes played up to today over those 21. That is another way of looking at reality. You use your stats to criticise, I use mine to show marked improvement. I could care less who is TCHFCATUTK. With 2 games left, and victories there that would improve our last 23 games to 14-9, with the last 13 at 10-3 for a win percent of .769 and overall improvement of .269 disecting the course of 2 seasons back to the last loss of the 2005 regular season. To break out further 2005 win percent was .455. IF we win out the 2006 win percent will be .750. A season to season improvement of .295, and not far off the mark of Fulmer's total win percent average over his career, still one of the top 3. Depending on which camp you pitch your tent, that means Cut and Chavis picked up his slack this year, or Fulmer pulled up his own boot straps and started making his own contribution for a change, or both. There's your relaity.

Head coaches are in the business to win football games. As much as I support Fulmer he himself also realizes this is a football program with a rich history that has not been lived up to in the last eight years. Either that changes or the staff changes. He and we as fans are all aware of that simple fact.

i don't think chavis has picked up anyone's slack this year and where oh where is cut's running game?

Good logic. Extrapolating that into other arenas, we should praise children who go from being A students to earning Fs, then raise their grades to Cs. Also, CEOs who take profitable companies and drive them into bankruptcy should be praised when they get the business back to break even.

I'm not the one on here acting like a five year old threatening to take his ball and go home.

I know, I read his piece. It was a little circular and I'm not sure I got through it safely, but nonetheless.

Nothing doing. Just breaking down your 12-9 stat. I never mentioned kids and their grades. But, if mine was doing well, slipped, and pulled them back up, I'd certainly be proud of them. Have kids? I've got a 14 year old step-son and 4 year old son. Don't need lessons on them. Crooked CEO's are a different story, but otherwise totally unrelated to the extrapolation of your 12-9 mark.

It's absolutely related. You're giving someone credit for partially fixing something they completely broke.

i still think it's the same premise. It's just head coaches are a heck of a lot more expendable than kids. Are you not going to be upset at your son when he bombs out? or are you going to just give him a fulmer clap?

It depends on whether or not his son is trying like heck and the availability of magic dust.

So, we are to go from broke to perfectly fixed, without room for improvement along the way, regardless of what the situation is. Glad you won't be my judge at hte pearly gates. How do you go from broke to fixed and skip improvement. I don't get it.

it's been breaking for 8 years... last year was just total failure. a good CEO or a good HC notice the wheels coming off before they do

The key would be not to break things in the first place. Bob Stoops doesn't have to rebound from losing seasons because Bob Stoops doesn't have losing seasons.

You can't change your argument like that. Now, your mid-stream. It's not like you.

P.S.- If the team/coaches weren't trying, would we have already bowl qualified when they had everything to give up on this season: Inky, Harrell, Ainge, loss to UF early, etc., etc.

The improvement is an illuision. This team remains a second tier SEC team.

And he made changes. Granted, they were changes to be made several years ago...

I wasn't changing my argument. I was lampooning TCHFCATUTK's myriad of goofy excuses and half witted defenses offered for the decline of the program.

and if you read my posts he now has to get us to that next level. i'm giving him two years to do it.. if not he's gone. right now honestly my concern is chavis.. his chain is a lot shorter than that

I'm not saying they are 1st tier SEC. I'm not saying all the necessary changes are complete. I'm just looking at the facts of where we were verses where we're at, whether or not it's where it should be.

I didn't realize Tennessee was the only team that faced adversity this season.

That is true, and that is my biggest gripe about him. I still think he is capable of recruiting, and putting this back together soundly, but stand up and take your flogging and talk straight. I could take all the rest in stride otherwise. He and Bobby Bowden are starting to sound like twins.
