It doesn't, but there are a lot of people who won't see it that way. Obama doesn't deserve all the credit for OBL by a long shot, but it's going to be a feather in his cap for reelection.

He deserves some. He made some tough choices along the way.
When the helicopters went down in the Iranian hostage operation the GOP jumped on it as Carter's fault. To this day, they bring that up whenever there is a discussion of how good/bad a prez Carter was.
Obama had much more involvement in the OBL operation than Carter had in that one. Yet some in the GOP want to deny him any credit at all.
Hypocrisy reigns in the GOP yet again.
yeah, and the democrats aren't exactly thanking Bush for what he did, either.
once again, you're living in a glass house.
Good grief. He started everything that Obama lied about dismantling, but didnt. Obama's lack of follow through on campaign lies helped him stumble backwards into some political gold. Neither president has much to gloat over, but rewriting it is absurd. What, exactly, did Bush do? He made OBL a non-priority and dismantled the team searching for him. He chose to bomb Tora Borah rather than go in for the kill. I'm not exactly saying Bush did anything wrong, but I'm not sure he deserves much credit.

This admin criticized the methods used to gather the information used in killing OBL. If their policies were in place from the start Bin Laden would be alive today because they would not have used the techniques that were used to gather the intel.
I haven't seen anyone in the gop not give props to Obama

You're dreaming. If Trump talked record and his business background, Obama would nail him on the bankruptcies, lawsuits, etc. If Trump tried to go into foreign policy, Obama would trump him with the Bin Laden card. If Trump tried to talk deficits, Obama would talk about the business failures. If Trump wanted to talk about social policy, well, that would be pretty easy with Trump's history.
So this admin is ok with water boarding and enhanced techniques now?
Your earlier post and this one suggest that this was the only source of information. It was one source, among many. All you can say is this:
1) We definitely know that information gleaned from interrogating terror suspects, including use of "enhanced techniques," was one part of the puzzle.
2) We will never know, for obvious reasons, how big a piece.
Debates over the utility of that process, based on particular examples of where you think it worked, can never go very far simply because we will never know what was done, what information was gleaned, and what other information came in from other sources.
The truth is I don't know how important it was in the scheme of things. But neither do you.
