I thought we were told during the Clinton years it's no ones business what they do in their personal life?
I agree that it is no one's business. UNLESS, one preaches moral purity while being grossly immoral. It is hypocritical. If you engage in immoral acts, don't give the false image of valuing morals. That's the difference. Clinton never promoted himself as being a beacon of morality. Many that have promoted themselves as such have had many skeletons in the closet revealed that indicate it was merely pandering to folks to get their votes.

You would have to be pretty young if the first time your heard "it's no one's business" was during the Clinton years. Typically I would agree but where do you draw the line on the shortcomings in the personal life of those running for PUBLIC office....extramarital affairs, drug/accohol abuse....
So we have Gingrich, Palin, Trump, and some others who have thrown themselves into the mix. Come on Republicans, I have to think we can do better.
This isn't for 2012, but what to people think about John Kasich or Bobby Jindal for future presidential candidates? I'm asking about Jindal because I've heard people mention him as a possibility, and I'm just wondering what people think about Kasich because he's the current governor of my home state.
Sure
That is Gringrich vs Obama. Be thinking of the wager and I will too. Nothing corny or stupid. I personally think that there are other Republicans that have a better shot than Gingrich. If the economy turns around, coupled with the Ryan Plan Medicare cuts, Obama wins in a walk (AARP is already in attack mode). If the economy doesn't turn around the Repubs stand a better chance, BUT the votes for the Medicare cuts make the race more interesting than it would have been. Working folks will probably vote their wallets (depending on turn around or no turn around) while seniors and those close to retirement will vote to preserve their Medicare/SS. Still too far out for definitive statements, though.

Newt would be infinitely better than Obama but he won't win once the media starts in on him (something they never did to candidate O).
and AARP is becoming a menace. The people leading the charge for them will never have to actually deal with the damage that's being caused right now

well first off most lobbying groups don't rip off their members by selling them annuities.
