i agree with you, but the aarp does seem particurally selfish and egregious.
You feel that way because of what they advocate. No one is forced to belong to the AARP.
Possibly, but you leave out the fact that the majority of lobbyists rip off non-members, namely the US taxpayer.
I think that all lobbying is legalized bribery and should be outlawed. But I will not accept the answer that one or another lobbying group is worse/better than any other just because an individual agrees/disagrees with what the lobby wants. They are all rotten, not just a few.
yes i don't like the fact they advocate raping poor young people to give more money to rich old farts. but i'm not sure as to the point of the latter?
I was just pointing out that an argument that the leadership of AARP takes advantage of its members is a very weak claim. .
they are selling overpriced and irresponsible products to their members. they are taking advantage of old people who don't know any better and using aarp's reputation among said old people to rip them off. they are absolutely taking advantage of their members and it's disgusting. go take a look a the website and tell me i'm wrong.
The last few days have proven why Newt simply has no chance. He's all over the map on key issues near and dear to the TP and the base. He's been an official candidate for a handful of days and he's already out of it.
Agree but while stepping all over himself he did manage to say something I agree with...
"I don't think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering," Gingrich said on NBC. "I don't think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a good way for a free society to operate."
SPIN METER: On health care, it's Newt vs. Newt - Yahoo! News--
Why do I get the feeling that Newt is simply this year's version of Fred Thompson? He just seems to be a pedestrian candidate that is just going through the motions... no real excitement or pop in his campaign. :ermm:
