Usually agree with you, but didn't Chizik and Auburn pretty much pass themselves off as compliant all season, while playing a QB whose father is known to have offered his services for $ to Miss State? I also heard Chizik and Newton often invoke the name of God, with Newton alluding to God being on their side. That sounds to me like passing themselves off as people of integrity(Scott Drew ring a bell?). An NCAA probe brought on by your star player's dad trying to market his services, hardly qualifies as spiritual warfare. Not to mention that player has a history of trouble. I wouldn't go so far as to say Taylor isn't a phony. Again, I agree with most of your posts but Chizik paraded Auburn's innocence all season. Any other QB would have served some kind of suspension. Then there is the issue of them refusing to punish a dirty def lineman. Auburn is dirty in more ways than 1.When have any of those four ever tried to pass themselves off as leaders in compliance?

Nothing much phonier than a coach permanently dismissing a player from his program for beating on his girlfriend only to welcome him back with open arms when he's struggling at the guard position.
Frank Beamer? The guy who has built his career around players who other schools wouldn't touch academically, yet always seem to find a way to get admitted in Blacksburg?
You further prove your inability to grasp simple concepts. When has Huggs acted as if he's recruiting a bunch of Rhodes Scholars and future senators? And here is where you are a hypocrite. Can you exactly tell us the kind of players your Huggy boy recruited at Cincinnati. Yet, when someone bashes him, you defend him to the end.
If they are cheating, it's the 'AA's job to catch them. If they don't, that's on them. Thus, as long as you don't parade around like you're some sort of icon of ethical behavior, I don't particularly care. And exactly how does that make them any better? They are more honest because they blatantly break the rules?

When I see John running around acting like The Last Honest Man In College Basketball and rationalizing taping a conversation with a 17 year old as "the right thing to do," I'll rip him for being a phony. Until then, I have no reason to do so.
I love how you conveniently leave out the university president's role in that whole thing. Then again, you're the guy who said Nick Saban To Alabama wouldn't have any effect on Phillip Fulmer and Cal couldn't win in the SEC. Your bias is obvious. Anyone who supported a piece of trash like Fulmer, who was essentially running a work release program his last five years, should probably steer clear of ethical debates. Here's a reason to call Cal a phony. Permanently dismissing a player then bringing him back when his team is struggling. Now you can confidently group Cal in your phony classification.
