Los Angeles thinks we care

So BPV, you mean to tell me California is taking Arizona's electricity without having some kind of protection in place so that Arizona just can't turn off the power??????

If you think they don't, you're just crazy and flat-out wrong. No way California takes the power without at least minimal protections in place for its citizens.

Again, explain to me how the electricity market works and you can end this silliness.

If Arizona suddenly decides that it needs more power for its own people, California is in the dark. Thats what just may happen!

But Arizona is not a utility, nor is it a wholesaler or retailer of power. It's a market with private power producers that sell into a large grid, where wholesalers and retailers pay for delivery to sell to their respective buyers. It isn't state centric.

please explain to me all-knowing one about interstate commerce

Tell another joke that makes you look clever. I like those. Tell me all about the contract that LA will sue over. It's entertaining.

By the by, on a board built on opinion, you calling me all knowing because I mix 'em in doesn't bother me. Keep 'em coming no knowing one.

thanks for explaining it. I'm starting to get BPV's style. Ridicule those he doesn't agree with and call them stupid. When they ask for him to explain, he can't come through.

Maybe the all-knowing one isn't as all knowing as he would like to believe.

I'm not explaining to you. You've maintained that you knew what you were talking about last night, when it's apparetly you had no freaking idea. You're clever trick, which I can no longer even use on my 6 year old us weak.

In my previous gig, I was a finance professional. I have some idea. You might read "The Smartest Guys in the Room" for a place to start about energy trading.

Exactly. I'm lost and you're the one who knows. Great point.

This is a piss weak argument when we're on an anonymous board. I'd also love to trade lives with you, but the gov't dole doesn't suit me. Otherwise, I would.

I'd love to switch lives with you, but I like diversity in my life. My morals would get in the way
How moral of you. I just saw your idiotic rambling pile of crap about your moral high ground because of the demographic composition of your city of residence. That's impressive. I'd brag all the time if I were you, but I'd probably stop talking about stuff like energy trading.

I've never seen more idiotic behavior than the behavior that has resulted from this law.

It's also amazing how ignorant so many people are about the federal law apparently.

I don't see it as ignorance. There are a handful out there that have no problem with the federal law, because it is not enforced. The majority have a problem with it, because it is not enforced.

Politicians (left mostly) see the law as being on the books, to appease one voting base, while not enforcing it appeals to a whole new base.

In AZ's case, the majority has spoken, and its politicians listened.

In fact, 16 states are considering legislation similar to Arizona's.

State senator Russell Pearce wrote the controversial law.

"Arizona spends $3 billion a year to educate, medicate and incarcerate illegal aliens. It's a serious problem," Pearce said.

And a serious challenge to Arizona's image and pocketbook. But so far, Arizona stands willing to pay the price for its actions. "

I think they will be okay.
