Oh gawd. Lou Holtz needs to just go away. He is another Al Davis. It's amazing how knowledgeable they were about football and yet know nothing about football today. You'd think owning a team and being an analyst would keep you up to date but not these two. One thinks it's 1970 and the other thinks it's 1990. 70 yard straights no longer work and Notre Dame is no longer relevant. You wouldn't know that if you were talking to Davis and Holtz though.

His reasoning behind it would make sense with it being that they return quite a few starters but they weren't even good last year, mediocre at best. I'm waiting for him to say the Cocks are going to Atlanta lol

Are you really surprised? He always thinks ND is the best thing since sliced bread. Sometimes I think he does it just to see what kind of reaction he'll get out of it.

Anybody seen Notre Dame's schedule? It's definitely a reach, but they are going to win a bunch of games this year.

Anybody seen Notre Dame's schedule?

I can't see them beating USC. With that schedule, they'll have to run the table to make the NC game, including beating USC. Also, they'll probably lose a game or two that they shouldn't. JMO

I believe it happened when he predicted ND to win 10 games in 2007. The image of Mark May trying not to pee his pants still makes me laugh.

You know, on the SportsCenter preview that they showed 4 or 5 times during the race tonight, they said "Tune in to see who Notre Dame will play in the national championship game"... and I was left wondering why they just didn't instead say, "Tune in to see who Lou Holtz has playing in the National Championship game."

What ever happened to broadcasters having to be unbiased?? Lou Holtz is so blatently ND-bias it's ridiculous. I don't think that's very fair that he's always bringing up ND. He's basically always saying "ND is where to go if you want to play college football" or "ND will go undefeated this year" when they clearly won't. It should be some sort of recruiting violation and ESPN should fine him every time he shows that he's clearly being biased.

I bet if Fulmer took an ESPN job and always talked about Tennessee, someone would say something about that.

Exactly what I said in my first post on the topic

He is a bumbling idiot of an "analyst", and everyone he works with at ESPN knows it. ND wont sniff a BCS bowl game, let alone the NC. Why he isnt called out on his blatant homerism by other "journalists" is beyond me. They will get absolutely slaughtered by SC this year. Its pretty sad when the only reason your team is picked to win 8-9 games by most analysts, is because your school and athletic dept. is a bunch of limp wrists too scared to enter a REAL conference where you cant pad your schedule with the military academies and the likes of Syracuse (yet they still find a way to lose these games). ND, amazingly, is STILL living off of what they accomplished decades ago.
