Such a garbage call and rule on stuff like that. At some point intent has to come into play. I can’t believe we’re this many years into this and coaches still allow every targeting call to be an ejection. It needs to be tiered like a flagrant foul in basketball.

Disney has destroyed football. You can't "unviolent" the game. I don't know which asshat thought it would be a good idea for disney to own the most violent game on the planet, but the money was too much for them to pass up.

The refs absolutely have to make two ejections to remain consistent on that late hit on Corral.

Now that's legit targeting. Still shouldn't be an ejection though. Don't think it's intentionally dirty. Fast game.

I disagree, the QB was well into the slide when both hit him. That's not a runner lowering into the hit, it's someone trying to get a shot in.

It’s weird the offensive guy has that much power to cripple a defense. They can lower their head all they want and they can slide and the defensive guy has a split second to stop running full speed.

I think both players were already going low for the tackle and the QB slid into them. See that's the problem. Bang bang plays like that are hard to judge. I don't mind it being a penalty, but ejections are harsh. 99% of targeting are reflexes and not trying to be dirty. I think a simple fix would be ejection only happens on second targeting call or if it's mind numbing obvious it's dirty/late.

Exactly. Players shouldn't be punished because the offensive player decided to slide late. Or if the player lowers their head. It's completely unfair. It's a big reason why it's turned into an offensive game lately. Defense has to played handicapped.

How in the hell are you supposed to do that in the moment? If you can no longer hit the qb I might have to find a new sport. These are grown men imposing impossible rules they make up as they go along... not for saftey, or to improve the game, put to protect their billion dollar product.

I just don't think people realize the speed of the game.
