Louisville at Ole Miss (Monday Night Football)

Not gonna lie, I wish Kiffin was here. I don’t give a **** about history. Dude has grown up.

They have to change this rule. I agree with the spirit, but the letter of the law is getting out of hand.

That is the fourth, FOURTH player ejected from this game over that call. Even crazier when a player can be out for half the NEXT game because of the penalty, too.

Players don’t need to lead with the crown of the helmet, but the head is on top of the body and when a person bends forward the head is the forwardmost part of the body in that position.

I agree with most of the rule, but something has to be done about the ejections.

Adding the flagrancy levels would clean it up perfectly.

You cant run without the head leading. When is a running back going to be called? He lowers his head as well....all humans run this way. Football is over.
Its been a long time since I came around and made everyone at Polk High forget about Al Bundy but I was just thinking that you’re taught the fundamentals and even if you know the potential of the penalty is looming it’s hard to unlearn things like the basic principles of tackling .

Louisville has sucked for a while. IDK why people thought they would be better this year. Satterthwaite = Kragthorpe = Petrino 2.0.

I’m not saying Ole Miss is Bama good (they aren’t). But they are the one team (other than Georgia) that I could see giving them a game.

Not just football. It is anything. Get up and run to the bathroom...you have to lead with the head. Enforcing the letter of the rule is stupid.

Moving away from all the targeting stuff for a minute…Watching Ole Miss and Corrall move the ball is pretty much how we’re supposed to look, formation wise, timing wise, etc. etc… One thing that Ive noticed is how well Corrall checks down or takes what’s there and runs 6-10 yards. If Milton can simply check it down a little bit and let Small, Evans, Fant make the easy catch that will keep the chains moving and it will open up the deep ball eventually.

Back to our regular scheduled programming about the f’ed up targeting rules.

The way they run that quick play action is key, I think, to freeze the backs just long enough to give the receivers an advantage.

Kiffin’s line during the interview about needing this Big10 crew to teach them how to tackle was hilarious.
