Loved The Win But....

Kansas has won at least 19 games in each of the last 39 seasons and at least 30 games in 15 of those years, they are defending champs, and came into the game 6-0 with wins over Duke, NC state, and Wisconsin. Despite all that evidence, this just so happens to be the year that they're bad...

I know this is a weird analogy, but this is like the Samurai saying “I loved beating the Huns, but it was Attila’s grandson. They don’t seem like great warriors anymore”. Like dawg, you just beat a dominate dynasty, who cares?

Never said they are bad. They damn near lost to Wisconsin (should have) and Duke is definitely not typical Duke this year. All 3 of those are very good teams....I just don't think Kansas was a legit top 3 or even top 10 team. Definitely not up to their usual level.

Kansas is not an elite team this year. They may end up being top 10 heading into the NCAA tournament but I also won't be surprised if they are closer to 20th and don't win their conference.

They are small in the front court, don't rebound or rim protect well and only have a couple of legit offensive threats from what I have seen. I don't see them making a deep NCAAT run unless Dick explodes in March. Maybe the Vols are just a bad matchup for them and made them look worse than they are. Anybody else feel like this Kansas team is weaker than usual?
You just wanted say the above. Don’t lie.

You keep talking about them almost losing to Wisconsin, you do realize this time last year they lost to Dayton, right? Did you think they weren't all that good this time last year? A Dayton team that was 3-3 when they beat KU and ended up in the NIT.

It’s like the Jamaicans taking on the Swiss in bobsledding only instead of winning their cheating coach who was really a comedian led them to the brink of a medal only to crash and burn yet they walked away with something more important than an Olympic medal, they walked away with respect. Ok so it’s nothing like that at all. It's bobsled time!

I think the reaction is more indicative of the volatile nature and low level comprehension among the negative responders. It was a fairly nuanced post, but it did require reading it to understand it.

I mean maybe but you have to admit, the title of the thread and the timing...like IMMEDIATELY after the W is probably not the best time to post it; especially when we have a ton of posters who would have come out of the woodworks if UT had lost.

Good teams lose and so do great teams.... sometimes inexplicably to unexpected opponents. I thought KU looked to have more potential all of last year. I feel like this year's Kansas team is a potential 7 to 10 loss team that doesn't win their conference and probably doesn't make it past the round of 32 or Sweet 16. I could be wrong.

I mention Wisconsin to point out that they could have easily have had 2 losses in a row. The tournament format means they would have played USC but not completely sure they would have done much better against them. Kansas looks like a team at the lower end of the Top 25.

Dont get me wrong... ZZ is playing his ass off. He's a freaking fighter. But right now... he just doesnt look very comfortable running the show. Hes had quite a few to's and forces passes. He looks like hes trying too hard sometimes. Hopefully he becomes more and more comfortable. Its a TOUGH gig!!

I think this is your better point. ZZ is a true PG. He’s just not playing really well yet. Yes, he’s adapting to the pressure of being the starter. But his makeup is definitely that of a PG.
