5 conference champs, 2 FBS at large and 1 FCS at large would address much of the controversy now. Not all, but most of it.
Under that scenario Bama still would have made it every year they did, minus some of the controversy. And UCF would have been humbled last year.
That's why you can't make assessments about which team was better based on one game. There are lots of factors that determine the outcome of a one game scenario. Speaking in those terms inevitably applies the transitive property whether you mean to or not.
No, it doesn’t. What, was UCF better than Bama last year? They beat AU, after all.
The only thing we can go by is results on the field of play. Is a one game data set better than playing the best of 5, or even 3 games? Of course not. It’s the same principle...one game is better than zero.
The 8 teams would be SEC champ B1G champ Big XII champ ACC champ Pac 12 champ and 3 other teams based on SOS and record. Sound bout right?The same way the 4 are selected now. A bunch of guys get together and decided who are the 8 teams that will draw the most television viewers, ermm, I mean, the 8 best teams. Yeah that's it!
