LSU DB Tyrann Mathieu kicked off team

those 4 game NFL suspensions are nothing are they -- any GM signing him to a huge contract is risking his job --- except maybe the Detroit Lions

Over/under on how many more threads are going to be created in the Football Forum that get moved here?

Without a doubt. You could put together a montage of him getting owned and it would last three or four minutes.

Just a big mouth.

Funny I watched every game for two years and I think I saw about 6-8 passes caught on him in two years. Morris Clairborne probably had 6-8 passes on him in one half of the WV game, he ended up getting pulled at one point.

A CB has to have short memory. The only weakness TM has other than liking to smoke is his length. Which is why when Peterson left early to the draft most LSU fans said the secondary was going to be better.

Funny, I watched a few youtube vids and saw him continually being dragged around the field like a little brother trying to tackle his big brother.

Hell, we saw it ourselves when he went up against Da'rick.

Michael Munoz is confused.

I didn't say any SEC 1st teamer..ever - the 2004 and 2011 SEC's are different - in the last few years there just aren't very many guys who were 1st team all SEC who didnt get an NFL shot

there will be a couple for drugs or injury concerns (a la Munoz) but if your a first team SEC player you have NFL talent

Not that it would ever happen, but wouldn't the NCSU/Amerson crowd crap their shorts if we picked up Honey Badger? It is too funny to just think about it.

Good God. Are you serious with this? Even if this isn't his third failed test, he can't play in the FBS this year. Do people really not know about that rule?

I can think of three plays when we made him look Who?ney Badger - YouTube

Two of the three plays he was in perfect position, I have no problem with that, the other one he was pushed down field a little, it happens. The one on sidelines he was in perfect position, lack of length.

Basically the Vols game where 3 balls were caught on him, he probably had 2-4 in the Bama game other than that you have made a few more over a 2 year period.

Go watch the UWV game and watch Clairborne, he had more passes caught against him in a half then TM had in 2 years and he still went top 10. A CB has to have short memory, I would put TM as a high 2nd or low 1st round pick, length is his problem, he will have difficulty at times because of it.... probably more so at the NFL level.

Clairborne and Peterson were better CBs, but TM was a better player.

Now if you want to talk about someone that had no business being on the field either in the secondary or at LB and that was Hatcher.... that guy had no business being on the practice squad let alone playing.

I know that Bama's coaches respected Claiborne much more than Mathieu. We never went after Claiborne, but whipped Mathieu all game long. HB did nothing against us in either game, other than knock Kirkpatrick out with a blatant personal foul in Game 1.

Wasn't he the subject of a federal racketeering case? Compared to Perriloux, Mathieu is just a dumb punk.

Perriloux's mom was a big problem. Mathieu has been near damn perfect on the field, off the field yeah a little disappointing but it's not like half of a America doesn't do pot.

In the end, he broke the rules and now he is gone. I don't think he is the worse person in the world, matter of fact, if you ever look at his back story its kind of amazing he made it this far.

Look man, I am an LSU fan. I said it before last year even started that TM is a great player, most LSU fans knew what the rest of the country found out later. I have no problem calling out specific LSU players, I do it all the time.

With that said, TM was damn near perfect, for a CB and for his size I don't think anyone could expect anything more. He smoked pot, he'll pay the price, he'll still go 1st or 2nd round... he will have have problems due to his length but he was a great player for LSU. He didn't have one or two good games, almost every game was good or great.

Now if you want to talk about a LSU player that was just bad that was Hatcher, I am sure he tried hard but he should have never been out there.
