Good grief. Never dreamed Ogre would get that job on a permanent basis. Damned glad we have Butch if this is the best LSU can do.

Safe hire. He can recruit well there given his knowledge of the area. Not entirely sure with what happened at Ole Miss back in he day, but he's done fine with the last two interim situations he's been in. I think it's a great fit. Herman will probably be great, but with just as many big wins they've had, they've also had some not so good losses this year. I think LSU is okay letting Texas take the chance and toss the big money. I think if they didn't have to compete with Texas money, they would have hired Herman.

Yea, nobody wants to play the fool chasing some coach you may not get. I doubt Herman wants to coach in the SEC--it would burst his bubble.

As long as he doesn't get Kiffin or Sark, I think this is great for our odds to beat them next year

LSU just downgraded at head coach. Good for TN next year (since they are up in the rotation slot) then worse from there on (weaker LSU is easier on Bama)

I don't understand the meltdown on the LSU forums. I think Coach O has done a great job and justified being considered/hired.

What I disagree with is that Kiffin will take a lateral job and go from Alabamas OC to LSUs OC.

If Herman takes the Texas job the best thing for Houston to do is hire Kiffin.

While I hope Lame does that he won't. Leave Bama with Saban for LSU and Ogre? No...

Yeah, I don't get it either. Fans will be fans. I remember when Saban was hired, the masses were not happy. I remember when Les was hired, the masses were not happy. :)

The perfect fit was always Jimbo, but he wanted to own half the bayou State.... other than that its a crap shoot.
