need to stop taking flyers on injured older players just for the sake of “leadership “ in the position group.

We still have older guys in the room that can tutor the young HS kids coming in. Campbell is already on campus. Most of the HS DTs.
That’s 9 months to get their body ready to contribute.

Not start! But contribute heavily. That’s not a huge ask imo.

Tired of the Pilis and Mitchell’s coming in bringing their “experience “ and then end up on the sidelines for the whole year.

Unfortunately Suggs has only one year of eligibility compared to ONL’s three.
He may not need much molding. Garner can help him add a few more tools to his belt and clean some stuff up and get this kid drafted hopefully.

When I saw he’s been to 3 schools it gave me pause as well, I understood where you came from.

We do need a player that is going to be here all season. We've seen a couple of transfers just quit mid season for different teams. I wonder how this player ended up at Grand Valley State to start his career?

We are spoiled with D-line play. That's the only thing I can figure out, because why is the reaction of LSU fans to losing him so much stronger than the reaction of Tennessee fans to potentially adding him? LSU fans were pissed he was transferring out, and maybe they don't have a plethora of great D-linemen but still, it seems that he must have played well for them. You can't always look at stats, especially at I-DL. He had one of the highest PFF grades for LSU on defense this year,

Agreed about being spoiled. People don’t realize how close we are to having multiple first round picks on the dline. I’ve been singing Lott’s praises for a year now. Elite level get off

Pearce should be a top 15 pick.

ONL should be a R2-R5 pick.

Omari should be a late round pick or UDFA

Simmons will likely be an UDFA, but I think he should stick with a team. His enormous size and athleticism makes him a great short yardage run stopper.

I think that is a plus. We have recruited some very good DLinemen and need to let high school recruits know they will get chance to play and not be replaced by someone from the portal. We Still need to recruit the best high school players we can or we will end up relying on the portal to maintain the quality of our team.

PFF had Lott ranked 40 overall right now. With the right combine he could easily end up right there in the first. He’s so quick. And even if he is 40 overall on nfl boards, depending on what those teams near the end of the first need, he could go off the board

Yes, this is about capitalizing on Nico’s last year and giving our team the best chance to win a national championship next year, IMO

Yep. Inside DLinemen who can rush the passer the way he can are like gold in the NFL.

I keep seeing Nico’s last year as next year, do you guys really think he goes pro after his RS Soph year? I don’t see it myself.

Well, Richardson got drafted throwing 58% and had 17 TDs and 10 INTs

Nico has 25 TDs and 5 INTs with almost 3000 yards in his first season.

If he repeats the same season next year, he’s gone.

LSU transfer Jay’viar Suggs is trying to move into a decision making mode. Suggs has not returned calls or texts since leaving Knoxville but there’s no news of Suggs taking any more visits. Suggs spoke a great deal about development and Rodney Garner. It visiting with Suggs he seemed like he would be a good fit for what he was looking for, but maybe that was just coming off a visit high. We will see where things are on Sunday.
