There is a decent chance Josephs heads to the draft as well. If he sticks around, Eason/Bailey return for Super Senior Seasons and we add another big body (Suggs) DL will be loaded again next year

I haven't seen Josephs in any mock drafts thus far. It's possible with a huge postseason that he could jump into the top 2 rounds. However, as of now he's not projected to be a Day 1 or 2 pick. In this new age of NIL he would probably make more money staying at Tennessee for his senior season than being a Day 3 pick.

Short term. Money’s in that SECOND contract. He may want to build his pro stock, but we never know how much they want to do the college thing when they have options.

The higher you go in the draft the greater likelihood you stick around cause teams don't cut high picks early. If you're a late round pick, one bad camp and you're outta the league. Back in the day before NIL guys made the gamble cause they needed the money. Now you can probably earn late round money as an elite senior starter at a place like Tennessee. Even if the second contract is what you're after, it benefits you to be as high a pick as possible so you can get as good an opportunity from the NFL as possible. We all know first round picks get chance after chance to prove themselves while late round picks are lucky to make it past their first training camp.

It's a dumb decision in 2024 with NIL to leave unless you're a projected Day 1 or Day 2 pick (unless you're a RB). RB is the only position that should leave as early as possible regardless of draft position because of how little longevity there is at that position.

Trey Smith is going to cash in huge in a few months…and he was a SIXTH. I know NIL wasn’t a factor, but you don’t wait if you feel you’re ready. Trying to milk relatively paltry 100’s of Ks when you believe your skills stack up high after your rookie contract is a calculated risk that may end up deep sixing you. So your “dumb decision” remark is once again YOUR OPINION and not a verdict. Puka Nacua had an injury tainted final season and it cost him rounds in the draft. Jumped anyway and set himself up to be in the 20+ million area after next season…BYU match that?

I thought he had missed more games his sophomore season. I remember part of his decision to return in 2020 was to improve his stock (and his promise to his mom that he would graduate). I argued that he needed two consecutive seasons without losing games to his blood clot condition. As it turns out, his stock did nothing but drop. Personal reasons most likely made it worthwhile, but MONEY didn’t improve. Had to work hard and get to his second contract. Would’ve cashed in this past offseason otherwise.

The committee got it wrong. They completely screwed up this format. Indiana is a great Mac team at best. Future committees, take note. The big ten sucks past the big three.
lol. They played OSU much better than we did. If it weren’t for some special teams miscues, that game is much closer. I saw nothing in our game we could have made it closer…

Tbh we need to get better in the middle especially with who we have leaving. Confident in our young DE’s and edge rushers but we need some game wrecker DT’s I feel like our DT’s where good against the run this year but not always the best at generating A gap pressure especially OSU and Georgia games.
