Capping NIL would go straight back to the Supreme Court and be overturned quite quickly as an impediment to free market.

If you want caps, would really need to establish players union, contracts with NCAA and a salary cap where the players become employees of the NCAA. Really really complicated, but I see no real way to limit or cap any NIL. Could you imaging Michael Jordan having a limit to his endorsements?

HOLD ON. You let anybody pay any player any amount of money for their name, image, and likeness but put a CAP on each school, just like scholarships and official visits. Players can make all the visits they can line up, schools can only offer so many. Players can play anywhere they want as long as the school still has room in their 85 or 105 caps. Simply write in the single player cap exemption rule where a school can have one player consume their entire cap without limit. Maybe a billion or two. MJ’s players can proliferate lots of schools, no problem. Bet Austin Peay could find room for a star paid by MJ to flaunt his wares.

This is a situation where the staff really needs to push for a commitment and not let him leave without it. Put a stop to the OU trip and lock this down.

This strategy is not this staff’s usual MO.

I don't think so. At least, IMO, you need minimum 2 of these 3 with Reed-Adams as the guy who can (and importantly, is willing to) play OG. But you just need to stack OL talent and Heard has 3 years to play (and can't go to the draft until he's played 2 more) while Reed-Adams and Pounds have 2 to play should they want them.

Landing and paying for them now gives you a massive head start on replacing all of Campbell/Mays/Sprags for 2025.

Assuming you win the bid next year.

I agree with that for the most part. However, I was there when everyone in TBA chanted “We want Nico” at a basketball game and it was awesome.
