UK's status as a basketball blue blood will be irrelevant

Funniest quote yet. Sadly, though, I don't think you're joking.

"Irrelevant?"

Ask yourself this: if TN and KY have identical resumes and there is one spot left to fill, who gets that's spot?

Get out of here with all that irrelevant talk. As long as the committee is comprised of humans, it will always be biased.

Resumes are never identical..come on, man...don't be a dolt. You are member #6 on the committee, say for example the ad at Loyola Marymount...why would you choose Kentucky over Tennessee even though you thought Tennessee was the better team?

It's called brand recognition. Kentucky is a far more attractive national brand than UT in basketball, that is just a fact. Kentucky is one of the power five (Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA) and if there's a way to get one of those programs in, they'll do it. Money, advertising, brands; this is how sports works, man.

We all care about Tennessee basketball, but the name "Kentucky" causes more heads to raise in the national TV markets. And quite frankly, at this point in time, so does the name "Alabama" even though it's basketball. We HAVE to win two games in this tournament.

UK winning makes UT's rpi higher right? Same vice versa.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct sir. But they also look at last 10. Ummmm. I think we got you there.

Can't always get in on name along. But it will happen anyway. Can you tell me how Harvard got in? Ummm. same officials that would put Kentucky in. There you have it.

If we win the first game in the SEC tournament, we play Bama. Wonder if the loser is out and the winner is in.

What year was that? And their resume?

2008-2009

20-13 including SECT
RPI was around 65 iirc

Obviously this years resume is stronger, but just pointing out that the committee will leave them out if they don't think they deserve it. The committe also left out UNC a few years back as well.

I'm tired of hearing about who "Joey Brackets" has in the tournament a day-to-day basis. No one can prove any of this as true or false.

Of course...ignorant people don't really understand how the world works, so they imagine it to be much more complicated than it really is, and imagine all sorts of conspiracies that could never happen if they just asked themselves a 2nd level question..."how would that work?" I mean, the committee determines the team so the "UK will get in on their name" dolts should offer an explanation as to why a.committe member, say the ad at wyoming for example, would vote uk in over a team he felt more deserving. What's in it for him?

A lot of people are forgetting Kentucky was left out just a couple years ago.
