Lmao, we are 8-4, having what most would call a bad start, are still projected in the dance...and you declare, "we MAY have a chance"?

Agenda much?

This team is dancing, I would be willing to bet anything on this, any takers?

Do you live on a farm, by any chance?

Read his other posts, if you can't see what ship he's driving ill buy you glasses, and I mean that with the upmost respect. He's a troll.

My point was simply this...we have started out pretty bad, we appear to be playing some good ball now, many would say our best ball is ahead of us.

It's not like we need to go 18-0 or 17-1 to make the dance, we need to go 11-7 or 12-6 to make the dance....I would say that's better than the slim chance the OP appears to be giving us.

If he was trying to say we've got a great chance, then yes I agree, and he has my apologies.

I don't know whether he's a troll or not but his posts in this thread seem reasonable.

I see no chance of this team making the dance with a 19-11 record. You study this stuff more than I do, so maybe I'm wrong. But I'll be shocked if that happens.

Alabama had, what, 21 total wins, with something like 12 in the conference last season, and was left out?

At 19-11 we'd need a couple quality wins. I don't see that getting us in personally otherwise.

SOS? RPI?

All honesty, a wise man once told me "all records aren't created equally".

Obviously, but it shows the weakness of the league. I'm just considering our record now, lack of quality wins and looming schedule. Obviously every team will have a different RPI and SOS but, all things considered, I don't see any chance of this team making the dance with 19 wins and I think they're still a bubble team at 20 wins. Just my opinion.

20-10 they say RPI of 38
19-11 they say RPI of 48

You would have a hard time finding any team from a major conference that was left out of the dance with a RPI inside of 50.

Alabama's SOS last year was a disturbing 80, Tennessee's projected SOS........35.

I hardly think using the word "may" with a team that's currently on the bubble is agenda driven.

This team has been inconsistent BTO, and like you said, we aren't going to shoot as well as we did last night. That said, I'm hopeful we continue to progress. The win over Virginia was a great place to start a run with the SEC schedule looming.

Inconsistent is the perfect word for this team. One night we look like we could beat almost anyone and the next we could lose to the United School of the Blind! I hope we get this problem fixed in a hurry and start playing to our potential every game. We need consistency in the worst way!

The UVA was the most complete of the season for the Vols thus far. I had absolutely no complaints at all for the first time in ages watching a CCM coached team. If I didn't know any better, I would think that Hart had a little chat with CCM during the Christmas break. Hopefully, they will continue to play this well and can get 12 or 13 wins in conference play, then 1 or 2 wins in the SEC tourney and get into the dance.

I hope you're right BTO. I think a lot of people feel like we are setting ourselves up for disappointment again if we wind up on the bubble. March is much more fun when Tennessee is dancing.

bTo thinks anyone who questions the man who has never been to the tournament is a troll.

I posted this thread as a positive but Martin's mouthpiece felt the need to start an argument. We are hoping Martin does something he has never done so sue me for not being sold that he can.

Anyone betting on this team to do anything is a fool. Their inconsistency is enough to drive a normal person mad. How else do you reconcile the results so far?

If I were trying to explain the inconsistencies, Maymon's re-acclimation to the offense and the growing pains of a new point guard would probably be my starting points. I'm with you, though. It's been frustrating to watch at times.

I got $100 on it as well. Cool?

Didn't we have 19 wins that last 2 years and got left out? I'm sick of this bubble crap , we need to set ourselves up better this year

The "weak SEC schedule" propaganda is proving to be a myth. There are currently 5 SEC teams in the ESPN RPI top 40...FL, KY, AR, MO, and LSU. Because those teams play each other a lot in addition to the weak sisters, their RPIs won't change much unless they lose an unexpectedly large number of their lower tier games. Also - Xavier is 24 and VA is 48. Both will be high quality wins for us. We are in with 12 conference wins, unless we lose 4 or more games to Auburn, AL, GA, and SC. Then, 13 would still do it.

You're taking their money like suckers Bleeding. (Sorry for killing your game!)
