Lunardi moves TN up as #45 team safely in NCAA dance

I don't know how anyone could look at this team and think "that's an NCAA Tournament team". I look at our schedule and see nothing impressive whatsoever, other than a big win over Virginia. I see bad losses all over the board, and wins against meh teams. They will probably end up losing 2 of the next 4 games even though 3 should be easy wins.

I'd like to get the tourney this year, but either way, we're screwed for years to come. Unless we can develop some guys quickly. Might as well enjoy one tourney appearance while we can. Martin's days are numbered regardless.

I don't care how we get in, I just want in the damn tournament! That being said, how an RPI of 58 with 1 top 50 win (from December) gets us in is a mystery. Maybe instead of spending money on a coach, we've just started bribing the committee?

I figured it out! It's an ESPN conspiracy using Lunardi to keep mediocrity in the UT basketball program!

If the Vols win out and don't lose to a team like Vandy in the SEC tourney, I think they will have a good shot at the making the NCAA tournament.

This! Why some people can't understand this is beyond me.

I think the ones wanting martin to make the tourney are doing the same thing they accused Pearl supporters of doing. They put Martin ahead of the university and don't care if the program goes down in the process.

Maybe they want UT to make the tourney.

But that would mean we are stuck with Cuonzo for a few more years. If I thought this team was capable of making a run, then I would be all for it, but after watching this man coach for three years, I have no confidence in CM to lead any team.

What I meant was that if ccm sneaks in and hart doesn't fire him then we have to endure several more years of mediocrity of which ccm seems to strive for as his goal.

I don't think CCM has much support left. A tournament appearance won't change that either IMO.

That's my point.

We can make the dance and still have a coaching change, no? Is there some rule against that?

I've been led to beeline the big money donors make the decision not Hart, and that they're all off the Zo train. A tourney appearance surely wouldn't flip them back so quickly would it?

I'm not privy to any information like that and i'm unable to come up with any reasons why it would.

He is not getting fired if we make the tourney.

We don't have the money and we don't need to look like retards.
