Completely agree. The longer this drags on, the less likely it appears we'll see Rickea at 100% at any point this season IMO...
Not only is Kellie getting her ready for the SEC, but she is also looking out for Rickea's pro future. I am sure she wants her past that injury, but Kellie is not the type of coach to push a player back if it will impact that player's future. Not every coach out there has their player's best interest at heart. Tennessee has a coach that does, even if that costs us a couple of early-season games.Of course you agree but I think you mistyped your last sentence - I think you meant to write I hope that we don't see Rickea at 100% at any time this season.
But, for the record. This is how soft injuries work. They take a few weeks to heal and then they are healed (so long as the athlete is not rushed back).
Nothing is "dragging on" - a grade 2 muscle strain or high ankle sprain can 4 to 6 weeks to heal.
Probably, Rikea's injury is somewhere between a grade 1 and 2 level injury, which led to the day-to-day but it clearly is responding more like a grade 2 injury.
So which is it? Believe day to day or this is how soft injuries work and rattle off weeks.Of course you agree but I think you mistyped your last sentence - I think you meant to write I hope that we don't see Rickea at 100% at any time this season.

It doesn't take a lot of sense to see she can't coach at this level. Five (5) years and we have to settle as she seldom beats a good team and now even the bad ones are catching up. So very sad that the administration can't see thatThe LVs finished the SEC tourney last season 2nd…
the regular season 3rd!
make it make sense lol.
Go easy on him, virtue signaling is hard…
All part of the plot to deceive!
Apparently she was at practice today, recovered from the bug.
I don't expect it to be announced when she's ready to return, wouldn't want to give the opposition that head's up. She'll be day to day until she's back.
This is torturous for all of us, not less Rickea herself. We all hope it's over soon.
Kellie didn't announce when Rae was returning 2 years ago from her lower leg injury. She just came off the bench in an away Arkansas game as though she hadn't been gone. I don't think Rickea's injury is as severe as Rae's due to how she played coming out of the gate and nothing was apparent at that time. It is probably a nagging injury that they want to give time to heal. Rickea has played a lot of basketball over the last 12 months with summer basketball workouts, Italy, and USA basketball, and hasn't had any significant breaks and pushed her body probably harder than anyone on this team. She is playing more physical than I have ever seen her play. Rest is the only way to heal ongoing injuries. If she needs 2-3 more weeks, give her that time. She will be in shape to start the SEC league play and will probably be hungrier to re-establish herself as one of the best in College basketball this season. I wouldn't be mad about that.
