LVFLs in WNBA games today

Well, she's holding her own. Nothing amazing, but she is learning a new position and that'll take time. I wasn't surprised to hear that Jewell Loyd is impressed by Horston, BUT is having to work on her to stay out of her own head. This is an ongoing issue for our Jordy -- the downside of wanting a bit TOO much to please while also being overly sensitive.

She definitely matured a lot between her junior and senior seasons at Tennessee -- A LOT, imo -- and so my hope is that having a strong mentor such as Loyd will help her take another big step forward this season and into next.

Thought Jordy played well last night. She had a couple rookie moments but she’s out there giving it her all.

I’m not sure what Seattle is doing offensively though. Too free form for me and the only player they have who can really create her shot is Jewel Lloyd. They start two nice centers but mostly have them playing on the perimeter setting screens and executing handoffs. With that much size they should be trying to force a switch for Cedes or Ezi every time.

Jordy looked like she belonged in the WNBA. She doesn't appear overwhelmed by the situation or the moment.

She did look a little more confident in her second game, but like Draya Carter said, she needs an effective move to be able to get her shot off once she's penetrated the lane. Stewart made Jordy eat two or three shot attempts under the basket after she got stuck. I *can* see, though, that she's trying to work on moving on to the next play without dwelling too long on a mistake in the last one.

Speaking of Stewart, Jordan did a fair job when she got stuck trying to guard her. Ain't NOBODY doing a great job of stopping BS if she's healthy. Oh ... and that shiner was courtesy of Alyssa Thomas, the player who intentionally stuck her knee out and into Candace Parker's knee last year during the playoffs. CP could have had her career ended by that play. AT is a great player, but in the heat of competition she loses control/good judgement and goes too far physically. She'd sucker punch her grandma if she thought she could get away with it in the heat of a hotly contested play. 😂

Overall I'd say the fact that Jordy is a rookie learning a new position with new teammates and new coaches in a new organization in a totally new environment, shows. But I have more hope for her today that she can stick longterm than I did after the first game. She needs to develop some moves -- fakes, maybe? -- to get open and then, even more importantly, start hitting more shots.

I didn't catch the game. What is her new position?

What’s the deal with Rennia Davis? Has she not been able to make a roster or injured or what?
