Mack Brown out at Texas

If Napier didn't follow Saban; hire Dabo, keep Smart (assuming Smart doesn't leave) and Napier and you have a pretty solid coaching staff on paper.

Yea Dabo.

A guy that gets owned by SC year in and year out.

That's the guy you want taking over for Saban.

Yes, as a UT fan that hates Bama, I'd be all for that.

Rumor on Texas board: saban has a $20 million debt from real estate investments with LSU and Bama alumni. Lol
If their search lasts as long as ours they might approach grudenmania status.

Chip Brown of Orangebloods who has broken some big legit stories in the past - and is probably more connected than anyone else in the media to the Texas athletic department - reported around 3:15 this afternoon that Mack Brown would be resigning within 48 hours.

He didn't say anything about Saban to my recollection.

Honest question.....

How good is Smart without Saban?

Great point and nobody knows but thinking back to all the previous big coaching openings, schools almost always hire someone less than what their fanbase expects. Muschamp was the best assistant available when Florida came open and well... Alabama went through Dubose, Price, Shula and some say RichRod turned them down before Saban. A lot of our fans thought Gruden. USC was one of the best jobs out there according to some but they went with Sark? So I'd say the likelihood of a home run hire is slim and they probably go with the best available option which would be Smart.
One things for sure though, whoever they go with will have a stacked lineup day one. Or he stays and gets a huge raise.

This is so full of lulz. I'm not believing anything until I see it finalized.

:bs:

You would think Tennessee fans out of all people would understand not to believe the Twitter and social media hype that comes with modern coaching searches.

I believe Mack's gone though. He had to win that game against Baylor to have any shot of retaining his job.

It wasn't long ago that the "Mack's gone" speculation was Twitter and social media hype. Sometimes they get it. Sometimes they don't.
