Mack Brown out at Texas

We fired Sherman while he was on a recruiting trip too. The kid's mother informed him of it while he was in her driveway. Then Byrne called him.

In hindsight though, the kid committed anyway so theres always that.

It still makes zero sense to me for Saban to leave Alabama and go to Texas. What would be the point? At best, that is a lateral move. Yes Texas would offer him a ton of money but I'm sure Alabama would do it's best to match it. At least enough to where Nick wouldn't want the headache of relocating and starting all over at the collegiate level.

It would make MUCH more sense to me for Saban to leave Alabama to go back to the NFL because success at that level is still something he has yet to accomplish. If Saban moves to Texas, it's either to coach the Cowboys or the Texans.

Not one of our finer moments and it didn't go over well. There are still people pissed about how that was handled.

Saban's agent is Jimmy Sexton. He will sure dangle Saban out there for Texas just to see how much money Bama can come up with.

Then you dont understand Nick Saban. Not saying he will take the Texas job, but he wont be taking a job in the NFL.

@BFeldmanCBS: Heard from two sources who said the @ChipBrownOB report about Mack Brown being out at #Texas will prove accurate.

You don't know that. His situation at Miami could have been entirely to do with their front office, not with the league itself. Working under a different organization could make all the difference in the world. Look at the difference in the job Pete Caroll is doing now with Seattle compared to how he did before.

Of course I dont KNOW that, but it would be a ton more surprising to see him jump to the NFL than it would be for him to go to another CFB program.

What sense does that make though BearCat? Why in hell would Saban even WANT to go from one major college program to another? It's a lateral move! Is he secretly just unhappy at Alabama? I have never gotten that impression. He is treated like royalty and he has that program rolling. Why on earth at his age would leave that just to go to basically the same situation. Surely he doesn't think it would be less pressure! Texas fans are every bit as demanding as Alabama's.

Again, you dont seem to understand Saban. He's accomplished pretty much everything possible at Bama. The move to Texas would make complete sense given who he is. Will he do it, dont know, but definitely would before making a move to the NFL.

What could he accomplish at Texas during the waning years of his career that he couldn't accomplish at Alabama?
