Maggitt Sidelined Again?!

He has practiced in some form every day. But he has not been cleared to play in games by the training staff because of a physical issue, not a mental one.

Hubbs reported that he felt it was a mental hurdle, and everyone took that as gospel. But Hubbs was making a guess, and he's completely wrong.

And what are you basing this on to support your theory?

My daughter torn her ACL and never was able to return to full speed play (soccer)...even after multiple surgeries and rehabs she couldn’t play long without lots of swelling...just saying, there are no guarantees for full recovery...I hope he does recover but that’s not a sure thing...

Difference is, I doubt your daughter received the around the clock care, evaluations, and rehab that Maggitt is receiving.

Everybody can have some or all of that but the big guy upstairs decides when it's time. That's just a fact.

I believe Brian Randolph did the same thing last year in the FL game....

Maggitt tore his nearly 2 months after Randolph. Radolph on September 15 and Maggitt on November 12. Each person recovers differently from those types of injuries. We are 10 months from it.

My guess is that he has battled some swelling and symptoms from practice, and they are being cautious.

Used the same orthopedic doctors Alabama uses...very aggressive rehab...a total for 4 surgeries over two years...the human body is not a machine - sometimes you can’t fully recover...just saying...remember Chuck Webb? (He wasn’t my daughter by the way...:))

Not everyone heals the same. It's a fact of life.

Very true. IMO, you take the good, you take the bad, you take em both, and there you have, the facts of life.

Again, JMO.

And this is exactly why life pisses me off sometimes...

I think they're just not rushing him back onto the field because we'll need him for the closing stretch if we want to exonerate bowl eligible.

What good does it do us for this year or next if we rush him back and he aggravates his injury again?

If he can't be ready by next week, he's not going to help this team this year. We don't need him for vandy and kentucky. Redshirt the kid and be done with it.

False. The training staff is holding him out because of symptoms he is experiencing after going hard on the knee.

I do not believe he will redshirt, even if he doesn't return until Georgia or South Carolina. He was high on NFL boards before his injury, and a redshirt isn't going to keep him in school an extra year.

Thank you. Someone makes an assumption, it sounds plausible, then it gets reposted until it becomes "fact".
Like "Justin Hunter playing scared of injury because of the upcoming draft". That crap was repeated so many times, you would think it was a direct quote.

No idea about Maggitt. But the comments concerning Hunter were an attempt to explain why he avoided contact, dropped catchable balls, failed to go after balls, failed to jump for balls, etc... he was not half the receiver as a Junior as he was to begin his Soph year. He was a blast to watch before the injury. After... he was just another "good" WR.

Maggit tore his in the 3rd to last game of the season. It makes sense that he's about 6 weeks behind Randolph. Remember Randolph was able to play at 80% in the spring. I don't think Maggit could even run full speed at that time.

Plus Maggit has more weight to bare on that leg of his. LB is a physical position.

Are you saying he's going to take his clothes off?

OK, getting a little concerned here about what is going on with his recovery. He has been continuing to practice with the team, but not playing in games. I was on board with those thinking we were just holdiing him out until conference play to be sure, but now he is sitting for the Florida game too?! Watched him jump around yelling getting the team jacked up pre-game at Oregon, but can't play? Anyone with more detail on the injury and why its not healing? (Randolph, same injury, only three to four weeks removed)

:hi:

Before the year started one of the players on the team told me that Curt was thinking about redshirting this year to get just get completely healthy. So now I am positive that he will redshirt and come back next year completely healthy.
