Malzahn (not) to be named Vandy coach

I love how people call fast-paced, no huddle, spread offenses "gimmicks."

Remind me, folks, what offense do the two teams in the NCG run?

Piece of cake. He just needs to find a few Cam Newtons and Darren McFaddens to commit to Vandy. Shouldn't be too hard.

Will Jay Cutler work? Vandy occasionally has a good player, if that happens Malzahn will know how to showcase him.

It's not a good development at all, Vandy finally getting a decent offensive coach. Malzahn has a pretty high opinion of himself, and this maybe his undoing, believing he can win at Vandy.

I always thought Vandy's best chance at being able to compete is running something like Gus' scheme.

Vandy will usually have a hard time getting the same level of talent as the other SEC schools so a scheme/niche offense should help them.

I think Gus is crazy to take the job though.

Whatever Duck...
But I will wish you good luck in the game. I would normally go for the SEC but you have a coach that honors our veterans. Go get that crystal football and we'll be out that way to kick your a$$ in '13.:salute:

I'll be honest and say that I am slightly nervous by this hire. I don't think he'll turn them into a powerhouse or anything, but I don't want to have to consider every year that Vandy just might find a crazy way to score more points than us.

Yes, he does. Attends military funerals in the area, dedicated the spring game to them...but of course, all he'll be regarded as is a jerk because of how he reacts to stupid media questions.

Thanks for the support, though. Go Braves, also.

his offense at Tulsa was the 2nd highest scoring in the country and last year Chris Todd broke school passing records. Malzahn will put up big numbers.

You couldn't be more wrong.

Unless you're talking turnovers and sacks allowed. If that's the case, Vandy will probably be up there.

They can and will if they spend the money on coaching and facilities. Stanford got good coaching and they have a very good team. Vanderbilt would probably even be happy with a level of success similar to Northwestern.

It will be even more challenging in the SEC compared to the Pac10 and Big10, and Vandy has not historically been a program who would invest in the facilities.

Nobody really cares about Tennessee's championships in the 30's and 50's. Hate to break that to you.

Florida's facilities and stadium are both superior to Tennessee's. Gameday traditions and fanbase are a push.

I will concede that I'd rather live in Knoxville than Gainesville.

I know your not serious about the facilities and stadium being more superior than what Tn is.You can talk all the nonsense you want about our championships all you want but when you dont have any of your own to talk about ,you dont want to hear about anyone elses.

Do you honestly think they really matter anymore to anyone outside of fans of the program?

A coach that tried to tell recruits on championships won before their parents were born is going to be laughed at.

But Malzahn had Mustain throwing 30 times a game with McFadden, Hillis and Jones in the backfield.

Why no faith in that gameplan?

Vandy should of went with GQ IYAM.

Don't you love how he gets to much credit for that Arky offense?
