Malzahn (not) to be named Vandy coach

True, but it won't work. Even if it does Malzahn will likely accept another HC job.

Oh, Im sure he will if successful.

Not a lot of open doors at this point for him. If he gets a couple 6 win seasons out of Vandy he will look like a genius.

Hes got 3 million reasons to leave now, if that # is accurate.

He has his own team to run now. If I was Vandy and put 3 on the table he would be in Nashville tomorrow.

I would let Gus coach the NC game if I were Vandy. That is worth a lot in recruiting to say he won one if they beat Oregon.

Those schools spend money on athletics and recruiting budgets for travel, Vandy doesn't...that is the difference between Vandy and Stanford/Northwestern/etc...

Vandy is incredibly cheap when it comes to athletics and then don't understand why they can't compete in the sport that costs the most money.

Maybe this is a step in that direction. Vandy becoming a respectable program is good for the SEC as a whole. Would be nice to have 12 solid athletic programs, not 11 solid programs and one red-headed stepchild sitting in the corner, eating paint chips.

Not in his case. He's not gonna go toe to toe with elite programs for players.

Hes got a staff to hire amongst many other things.

If he agreed and signed he would start tomorrow for me.

1. Winning tradition spanning longer than last 20 years
2. Facilities
3. Stadium
4. Area
5. Gameday Traditions
6. Fanbase

Nobody really cares about Tennessee's championships in the 30's and 50's. Hate to break that to you.

Florida's facilities and stadium are both superior to Tennessee's. Gameday traditions and fanbase are a push.

I will concede that I'd rather live in Knoxville than Gainesville.

BS

Well, he either just ruined his career or he's going to perform the single greatest football miracle ever.

Ever.

It's not even close.

Don't preach to me about 2005.

I'm not sure if that statement is more idiotic than wrong, or more wrong than idiotic?
