Malzahn (not) to be named Vandy coach

Vandy will never ever be able to bring in the players to be even consistently mediocre.

Stanford and Northwestern seem to field competitive-to-very good teams on a consistent basis. I'm not sure exactly how the academic requirements stack up from any one of these to another, but they've got to be pretty similar. No reason Vandy couldn't be consistently competitive on the gridiron, but it's going to require more support from the university.

I was sitting in church and my cousin's boo said we can beat Vandy next year with Malzahn...and then he rolled one.

If Cam Newton is going pro and I think he will, then this may be in a rush to get that 3 million per season! Don't forget the money! Gibert Arenas said this about some of his broke friends in the NBA that passed on what the thought were menial contracts looking for 100 million dollar paydays, "When someone offers you millions of dollars you ask where do I sign?"

He had Chris Todd or whatever his name was throw over 2,000+ yards and 20+ TDs last year, he doesn't need Cam...

To clarify, I said 7 or 8. Vandy was a field goal away (in two games) from being an 8 win team two years ago. Just saying.

The Dooley point isn't necessarily true. He could turn in some decent seasons, have a couple of bad ones, and be shown the door.

If Gus gets Vandy 8 wins, they'll have a statue of the guy in front of that dump they play in before Easter.

If Chip Kelly wouldn't leave for Florida, he sure as hell wouldn't leave for Tennessee.

And no, Dooley doesn't leave on his own.

From what I understand, Chip was never even considered for the UF job. I don't blame him though, life is much easier in the Pac-12.

They can and will if they spend the money on coaching and facilities. Stanford got good coaching and they have a very good team. Vanderbilt would probably even be happy with a level of success similar to Northwestern.

I'll believe it when I see it, because it's never happened before. Stanford and Northwestern also don't have to recruit against Sec teams.

Those schools spend money on athletics and recruiting budgets for travel, Vandy doesn't...that is the difference between Vandy and Stanford/Northwestern/etc...

Vandy is incredibly cheap when it comes to athletics and then don't understand why they can't compete in the sport that costs the most money.

If he has decent seasons with what he took over, I don't see him having bad seasons in years 5+. That's if he succeeds early on. JMO tho.

Hes got 3 million reasons to leave now, if that # is accurate.

He has his own team to run now. If I was Vandy and put 3 on the table he would be in Nashville tomorrow.
