Just wondering cause I'm curious. I know I'm going to get killed for this, but I reallyhave to ask. I'm a diehard Vols / Patriots fan. I love Peyton and Timmy Tommy Brady equally probably as much as anyone. I like to think because of that I'm pretty unbaised when it comes to this argument.. but To people who think Peyton is the greatet ever, why? cause he wore orange?

Was last night Peytons fault? Absolutely not. But he still had 3 pro bowl caliber recievers.. a pro bowl caiber tight end. a running back who will get a nice 4 year deal somewhere in FA.. and he laid a "duck" in the big one. Seattle had the better team.. but irregaurdless. If Rodger, Brady, or even frieken Romo played like that last night they get crucified.. Peyton gets the free pass.. why?

The worst part of the game to me as i was not even surprised to see peyton struggle so much. Tom Brady missed 2 throws in the AFC title and that STUNNED me. I saw Tom Brady take a band of misfits to 13 wins and I saw Peyton (With phenom. stats) have the most talented offense in the league since 07 pats play horrendously.

SO FINALLY I ASK - why do my vol fans so strongly believe Peyton is better then Brady? Is it the stats? As a patriot vol fan.. I'm taking Tom.. 100 out of 100 times. Peyton is the GREATEST regular season qb ever.. but that isnt whats most important.. ask Dan marino.

and to you, if the SB race ends 3-1 brady, (i think its likely atleast one of them wins again), how do youjustify Peyton over Brady?

Just to be clear.. this isnt about last night. Seattle dominated, period. This is comparing Brady from 2000-present to Manning 99-present.
just curious.. sorry for the length.:peace2:

Never apologise for your length, unless it's too short.

OP,

If you're expecting a bunched of well-reasoned, unemotional responses, then you're going to be disappointed. There will be a few, but you'll have to go digging for them. Good luck.

Honestly. No QB could have made a difference last night

This. From the opening decision to run out a kick that was 8 yds deep, the entire Denver team was unprepared and overwhelmed. I place that blame on John Fox and the coaching staff. The only people that looked like they had a clue about what was going on were Manning and Welker.

I think the reason why Manning gets a pass for last night is because he could have played lights out and they weren't going to win that game. Once the game got out of hand in the first half it changed the dynamic of the game. He could have mounted a second half comeback, but the KO for a TD to open it up put the nail in the coffin. At that point the Seahawks just pinned their ears back and came after Manning. I think ALL the QBs you mentioned would have had some difficulty and NONE of them would have won had you swapped them out.

ha. My thoughts here are WELL established, so I'm staying silent on these thoughts, but that one is a little over the top and you're not the typical homer!

I'm far from a Peyton homer

That's just what you normally hear a Peyton fan say

Remember, when he didn't sign with the Titans and the Peyton Posse got upset?

I made the statement that UT was going go to change Peyton Manning Pass to Peyton Manning Passed on the Titans

Boy, did that ruffle some feathers

If Rodger, Brady, or even frieken Romo played like that last night they get crucified.. :

They would have played like that last night and they too would have been crucified.

I like how you talk @ the Broncos having the highest rated O in the league while questioning the ability of the leader of that O. That's funny right there. :eek:lol:

Doubt Joe Montana would have won that game last night or any other supposed all time clutch QB. The Seahawks were more prepared and clearly the better team.

I doubt many will consider Peyton the greatest, and most will put Brady ahead of him for a reason that I think is fair. This is America, and America likes winners and players/coaches that win when it counts. The hardware is very important to legacy.
