Manning / Brady -

The only reason I would take Peyton over Brady is for his football IQ. Nobody gets his offense into better positions at pre snap or adjusts better in game to what a team is doing.

Manning is the greatest because he has won 5 league MVP awards. To win a SuperBowl is a team effort; however, to win an MVP is an individual award.

If Trent Dilfer won 4 SuperBowls with the Ravens, would you then claim that Dilfer is the greatest because he won 4 SuperBowls, or would you say Manning was the greatest?

Also, look at the individual awards that Manning has won compared to Brady

Kind of hard to use last night's game to make your argument that Brady is better than Peyton. At least Peyton was there.

I have never understood why so many people want to "crown" someone as the greatest ever and/or use that to denigrate a great player. Makes no sense.

Regular season, Peyton is the GOAT, hands down. When it comes to performances on the biggest stage (Super Bowl), Tom Brady is miles ahead of anyone else ever IMO.

Peyton is statistically slightly better than Brady.

They're both top 5 all time IMO.

The guy that hasn't won anything since the offense became a vocal point?

If you're going that route its Montana.

Someone has to catch the ball and run the routes

Manning is great, but like last night, he is nothing without his receivers.

If you root for Manning/Brady, everyone should just be glad that 'their' quarterback is in the conversation for GOAT.

That's all it's ever gonna be. A conversation with the same ole homer logic justifying the arguers position.

Not sure how you can argue that Brady is money when it comes to Super Bowl performances. Montana is up there too, but he had many more HOF weapons at his disposal.

He's lost his last two.

His Super Bowl wins were built around a great D and a kicker that could not miss. He did play well.

How many gq covers has manning been on? For non football fans, you gotta love Brady.

On X's and O's they are two of the goats.

So he can do it all himself?

A QB is only as good as the receivers he's throwing the ball to

Why do you think Denver went out and spent all that money to get top receivers for him to throw to?

I still think Peyton's the best. Football is the ultimate team game. So while Peyton hasn't always been on the best team I do think he's the all time best at his position.

Couldnt you say this about any QB to ever throw a pass?? I mean they do have to have someone to catch it.

Yes

But some people act like Peyton does it on his own. Like he could have Snow White and the Seven Dwarves as receivers and he would still win the MVP

Without one you can't have the other

Like Montana didnt have a great D...............not to mention Clark, Taylor, and that other guy.

Didn't imply that.

You said Brady was miles ahead of anybody in the Super Bowl. He threw for 150 yards in the first and played poorly and lost the last two.

I'm saying he's clearly not.

You can't even list all the records he owns in one post--Vol Nation doesn't have enough room. He came back from what should have been career ending neck surgery, and he has won a superbowl and went to three.

Lots of quarterbacks go to superbowls. None of them hold the records that Manning does.

I do agree with you here. Manning has an amazing IQ on the field and from what I understand pretty much lives in the film room during the season. with that being said as a patriots fan I have to go with Brady simply for when he is put in a tight situation he is that man that can ge it done 9/10 times.

3-2 so more like 6/10

Switch Peyton to Belichick's Pats team for his entire career and he would hold at least 4 rings, maybe 5 or 6 by now. Brady may have gotten one with the Colts.

Belichick made Brady what he is. John Fox lost that game for Peyton last night. Broncos totally out-coached in nearly every phase of the game. Darth Bill would've put Carrol in his place, and I'm no fan of his.
