I don't really care about ND cover up. That's how they roll. Too much common sense in me to believe someone sits silent on the phone for hours and hours on end, for months, just for a hoax. Dude is a looney tune or gay, or both. And he refers to communicating with her family? Wtf.

How can I take someone's work seriously when he can't even get something so simple right in his article? Te'o did not get a phone call on the 26th. He did at the College Football Awards Show, but told Kelly on the 26th.

It might be nitpicking but is still a valid point. Rather than rushing to post something on the story on the day, he should verify what he writes. Unless he has another source (Which I doubt) the only data he has is the same that we do, Swarbrick.

If I'm going to read a paid journalist, with the basis of an article (and most all his article) on strictly opinions and impossible to prove theories, then I like for him to be right when he does report what little facts. It would have him taken twenty seconds to figure this out. If a dumb 20 year old on the internet can do it, so can Clay Travis.

We get mad when journalists don't report facts correctly, but when someone points out that it doesn't matter and "who cares" then what's the point of double checking your work?

As my college English professor said: "Your facts, even if they don't matter in the grand scheme of your paper, gives you validity."

This is the giant swollen detail that I can't swallow. I can believe in a repressed hyper-religious kid falling in love with the idea of someone over the internet. I can believe in someone being so dumb and devoid of critical thinking skills that he never figured it out. I can believe in jackasses pranking a famous athlete like that just for the hell out of it. I can't believe in hoaxers being willing to put in "nightly" eight-hour phone calls to keep it going.

I know I'm sounding like a Manti slurp tonight, but remember he said that he would fall asleep and then wake up to eight hour phone calls. He falls asleep, and they keep the phone on to continue his fantasy.

Crazy, but with this story, who the hell knows.

If the AD of ND can hide a story for weeks, and rush to a heavy breathing presser because word got out by deadspin, I'm not concerned with clay Travis saying the 26th instead of 25 th, or whatever.

Te'o was a huge USC fan. He was recruited by USC and it came down to them or Notre Dame

As we know he chose ND

Soon after, 2010 to be exact, he meets Lennakay

Lennakay leads him on in hopes of ultimately embarrassing him for picking ND over USC

I doubt the information he stated was rushed. The presser, yes, it is damage control. They've had time to prepare their statement. It doesn't matter because you're missing the point, he is our only major source as of now, however accurate that may be.

I think you are looking for a diversion or escape goat. If you will. There is so much info on this, and you are hung up on CT getting a date wrong by a few hours.

If it turns out he was actually gay, why go to Notre Dame if he was scared of backlash? I'm sure Los Angeles would be much more accepting.
