I totally disagree. They couldn't have possibly expected this to stay quiet forever. Maybe they hoped it would stay quiet through the draft.

My bs meter is off the chart on this one. -- I remember that fateful day at Stanford when our eyes met --they would visit on holidays, over the summer - felt like she was going to be a future daughter-in-law when we met her.

Too much dirt and slime here to cover up imo.

Even if Te'o is claiming he had no idea he was being hoaxed, how can he justify having a girlfriend for 3 years and not once going to see her while she was sick or injured??? She was supposedly battling leukemia and he never felt the need to see her???

update: @JayRahz & @Ceeweezy51 knew all along -- However this #Manti story ends, it doesn't change that we are all the victims of a #Catfish

Even assuming that Te'o was truly duped (which I doubt), there came a point when both Te'o and Notre Dame started perpetuating a story they knew to be false.

Its been less than 24 hours and this is THE story on every show. Just think what else will come out in the coming days. I believe 100% he knew.

We know Te'o lied, at some point, to his family, about meeting her face to face. We know even if Te'o was truly duped, the story had holes in it.
