Marietta vs Rome tonight

Before the game goes too far, any locals know how this game is supposed to go? A pregame spread perhaps? I just dont know how a strong 5A team does against a 7A team. Trying to get a handle on what we're looking at here, because so far it looks like men against boys. But I know Rome is respected and Marietta was like 5-6 last year.
A lot of people are trying to discount Marietta because of last years record. They are forgetting we played the toughest schedule in the country perhaps and by the end of the year almost all the stars were missing due to injury. Keyton, Bailey, Wray.....Torrence and Ellington didn't even play last year. I fully expect to win the state championship this season.

It's still a tough schedule. We play the PA state champ next week and it will be on ESPNU.

Like Kirby faced after 8-5

Have to prove you can win and do it big now

But to see what Pruitt and his staff are doing in recruiting should not shock anybody

They will get that roster a LOT better.

Can they win and compete with Georgia and etc? We will all find out, but they got some good players and I liked Warren Burrell in HS and sounds like he won a job. Wayna Morris is going to be good, just because Georgia doesn't take people does not mean they are not good

The kid from Georgia that played at Temple was better than anyone that Georgia had in the secondary last year. Kid is a freak show

That is why he was NFL Top draft pick, let's not be that fanbase all the time, Tennessee is recruiting well and they will have prove on the field how

They were trying to say Pruitt is already stepping on Ansley toes. The Jake came with this

A head coach can still allow guys to do their jobs and provide his input and make calls every now and then. Head coaches dictate what their OCs and DCs can call.

It's 3rd and 14 and you aren't protecting well, the HC tells the OC "run the draw here." The defense has the offense 2nd and 9 "we want to turn up the heat here..." It happens on every staff. A coach can improve in his ability to delegate and still have some control.

It's probably hard to stand there, let your coaches make all the key play calling decisions during a game, and think to yourself "Oh well, we'll just talk about it afterward."

More Jake Rowe

It's never as bad or as good as it seems. Jeremy Pruitt is a heck of a football coach. Did he find the right situation in Knoxville? Time will tell, but I have zero doubts about his ability to lead and coach.
They know we coming
