Nothing about Rome looks as good as advertised outside of their run game. Unless they’re waiting until the second half to play any sort of defense.

Rome traditionally is a strong football club. Usually has multiple Div 1 type players. They've just run into a very sound and talented Marietta team tonight.

Agreed but They’re nowhere near the team they were last year or the year before.

A head coach can still allow guys to do their jobs and provide his input and make calls every now and then. Head coaches dictate what their OCs and DCs can call.

It's 3rd and 14 and you aren't protecting well, the HC tells the OC "run the draw here." The defense has the offense 2nd and 9 "we want to turn up the heat here..." It happens on every staff. A coach can improve in his ability to delegate and still have some control.

It's probably hard to stand there, let your coaches make all the key play calling decisions during a game, and think to yourself "Oh well, we'll just talk about it afterward."

After watching Saban give Kiffin the business, I can’t even imagine how much he stuck his nose in the defensive calls. I have zero doubts about Pruitt and Ansleys ability to coexist.

@snowvols, bringing the Marietta knowledge. Appreciate it, especially since UT has a pipeline from Marietta flowing to Knoxville. Gilbert going to be a Vol, in your opinion ?

If JG bails for the draft I have a hard time seeing how anyone on campus beats out Bailey. Those guys best chance would've been if Bailey needed to add weight. Well he's built like a 4th year senior in college already. Already has leadership qualities and just seems to be built for this due to being in the spotlight since 8th grade.
