Basically it's trying to establish that "divisive" words meant one way can be interpreted differently by someone not quite wrapped right. For example, think of words used in sports (beat, whip, kill, demolish, massacre, ...), none are used literally, but this train of thought holds the speaker accountable for something he/she never meant. That is thought police kind of grounds - the thing that totalitarianism is made of.

Free speech doesn't protect you from consequences of saying stupid crap. She had every right to say what she said but she has to suffer the aftermath.

The 9/11 conspiracy theories having found a home in the Republican party is one of the oddest things I've ever seen. An opportunity to bash Muslims, support a strong military in defense of national security. And yet when those theories come up its in alignment with Republicans. Just never made sense to me.

Then omar should definitely be booted from her position because she was a rep. when she was spouting her racial crap. Who else said Trump had committed treason? You do know what they do to people that commit treason? How many encouraged violence during the last 4yrs.? Hell the last 6months?

Yep. Actions have consequences. Just like Morgan Whalen is going to pay dearly for his faux pas as did the Dixie Chicks years ago. Careers can be ruined for saying stupid schizzle. Maybe Greene will learn a valuable lesson but I doubt it. I don’t think she’s smart enough to understand the things she said. Just couldn’t control that mouth.

The House has elections every 2 years. If her constituents have a problem with Greene, she will be voted out.
