Mark Schlabauch picks WKU

It would suck because we don't have another game scheduled with them and so would have to live with hearing about it forever. But I would not view it as some major upset if for no other reason than that we still just do not seem to have any spark on offense. No big play threat, at all. Very frustrating.

Gators kind of remind me of some of our early 2000's teams where we had athletes on both sides of the ball , but our offense was just kind of stagnant most of the time.

I agree with you except you know there are people on here that will hound him after the Vols win. Probably they same people that are boycotting Athens, TN....wonder how that's going? :detective:

Does it count if I am inadvertently boycotting Athens, TN?

Yes, those were the years when Randy Sanders was SOOOO hell-bent to pass the football that we just stopped trying to even teach run-blocking. ...and when you have no run threat, your passing attack becomes very hit-and-miss.

I seriously would not be surprised if we lose to WKU. Bobby Petrino defintely knows how to get through the Tennessee D. Not to mention that we have 3 freshmen getting considerable playing time in the secondary (Sutton, Foreman, Swafford). WKU also has some NFL talent on defense. Yes, they torched Kentucky. We do have a better Defense than Kentucky, but it shouldn't be something that Butch Jones looks over. I love the Vols, but this game will be closer than past meetings. I think Tennessee will pull it out, but not easily.

As far as this weekend's game I think the media talk of upset provides at least another 3 points to our victory margin. Say.... 30 to 14 instead of 27-14 in favor of the Big Orange!

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we lose to WKU. The win over AP doesn't exactly put us in the National Championship picture.

This is where the coaching comes into play, with a big game coming next week not be looking ahead i dont think coach will allow that to happen, this is when he earned some of his money. We will WIN close not big but we will take it.:eek:k:

Even if we have some growing pains, I'll take our scheming today than anything we've done since the option days. We were soooo boring for so long. Cut mixed it up some , but it was still pretty predictable.

Why do they pay this guy? He's about as certain as saying "I'm 100% sure someone's going to win this week and someone's going to lose". Wish we could all be so lucky as to be able to get paid to make unqualified assumptions and face no consequences other than those of an angry fan..present company included. By the way Mark, quit looking at your cue cards throught the whole presentation. Your supposed to be a seasoned professional.

If we win this week close, then CBJ did not show anything again. And he will breakout the play book and open this team up against Oregon and then that game will be closer than people think JMO.

One thing too is , BJ coached in games with the WKUs of the world all the time and knows they're not automatic wins if they're well coached. If we lose it won't be because he was unprepared. He will simply be outcoached.

Given all of the talent in the state of Florida, why, in your opinion, has Florida experienced this drought in terms of offensive playmakers? Is it a matter of player evaluation and development on the part of the offensive coaching staff or a matter of transition in personnel packages from the type of offense that Meyer preferred to what Muschamp is implementing?

Mark Schlabach's Upset Pick: Week 2 - ESPN Video - ESPN

I didn't watch the video, as i am at work, but the subject of Mark Schlabauch's upset pick of the week is WKU vs Tennessee.

If he doesn't say they will beat us i apologize. Just though I would share.

I personally think we will beat the hilltoppers soundly. Ill even make a score prediction for ya: 38 - 17 Vols.

Don't shoot the messanger, but even if you do, I dont care.

Ok so how about WKUs freshman guard matched up with Dan, hood, and mo. How about their freshman receivers? We're not the only team with freshman? Both teams have first yr starting QBs. If you're gonna talk about freshman and such make sure you pull all the variables. Their receivers are as young as out Corners and outside of Willie McNeal the rest of their WRs combined for 1 catch last yr which is worse than UT WRs

Not a true VFL IMO.

I was born in East Tennessee, graduated from UTK and have been a loyal season ticket holder for 18 years. I'm just not a sheep or a VFL for that matter. VFL is something Dooley started so I don't really want to be associated with the acronym. I truly hope we win every game but I have realistic expectations. We should beat WKU but I believe it's possible that we lose.

Cant wait until we whip wku and Schlabauch's uga puppies lose at home to start 0-2. He's such a uga homer. He'll be crying like that uga loser on the radio after we beat them in Neyland the first weekend of October.

Mark is going off how the Vols have played the last several years so you can't fault his thinking. I, on the other hand think we win a close game in the 4th on a field goal by Palardy.....we will have to play well to win this game.

It doesn't matter to me whether Dooley coined the phrase, "Vol for Life," or not. I also graduated from UT, I've followed the program for 46 years and I am very proud to say unequivocally that I was a VFL long before Dooley arrived, I remain one now and I will be one until the day I pass from this earth.
