Mark Warner: this race is about the past vs. the future

This is a false dichotomy IMHO. Obama doesn't really represent change anymore than McCain does.

Put another way, choosing McCain is not a vote for the status quo.

how so? how will a McCain administration be different from the current one?

you have a choice btwn McCain and Obama. Which do you think is the status quo? Which do you think is a change for a new future?

since when is Marxism the future? The Communist Manifesto was published in 1848.

sounds like you'd prefer the status quo approach.

You tell me how is supporting McCain supporting the status quo? Or do you mean that repubs in general are the reason you want change? If so why specifically?

In virtually all aspects - the Bush-clone argument is weak.

Obama speaks change but he's recycling old democratic policies.

I honestly don't see Obama as being the change agent he purports to be.

But does change for a new future automatically mean good or sound for that matter?

Exactly, he can't hold a candle to JFK........

As a Virginia resident, I'm surprised you'd think this. He only cleaned up the ridiculous mess Gilmore got the state into. What beef do you have with him?

first reason is I guarantee he owns more than 1 house since he's worth more than McCain (and shady money at that) but that's really beside the point.

I wasn't around when he was Gov but his policies are still being abused by Kaine. Things like targeting only 2 areas of VA for tax increases (1 is where I live), car taxes, his broken promise to not raise taxes but the tax revenue in VA grew by over $1 billion, etc.

the situation might be a tad bit bigger than the August temperatures in your neck of the woods.

And what percentage of any global change can be connected to humans? That is where the argument fails. Climate change has existed for as long as their has been this planet. It exists but how do you attribute it to man?

Here, I will help Obamas campaign out. The change we believe in is this.......

I believe the government shouldn't spend more money than it takes in.

also, Keep your damn hands off the Social Security.

honestly, you might buy this Marxist argument, or maybe you're exaggerating, but this is getting old. Oppose UHC, oppose him lowering taxes for 95% of Americans, oppose his energy policy, oppose pro-choice or civil unions for gays or affirmative action or what have you, but the Marxist thing is just tired.

that's what you have to decide? Do you want to stay the course and accept what our place in the world becomes as a result? Or are you willing to take a bit of a risk to make the changes necessary to vault us even further ahead?

get used to it or put me on ignore. Obama is a Marxist and there is nothing you or any other of his sycophants can say that will make me change my opinion of him.

if your previous posts about your HHI are correct, your taxes will be lowered.

BS, maybe my taxes will be lowered, but tax increases on the businesses I rely on for daily life will increase my cost of living, thus cancelling out any perceived tax decrease imposed by the Obamassiah.

Warner earned it himself, not as the result of a preacher or JOP asking, "Do you?" And I bet he knows how many homes he owns. But as you say, that's beside the point.

the other arguments are lame and you know it. the car tax was a tax on usage - you pay for what you use. Gilmore repealed it and got the state into a frickin' mess - huge debts - you can thank him for that.

Best managed state in the country? I guess that was a hoax?

I obviously don't mind it, otherwise I'd be posting on dailykos or somewhere that would just reaffirm what I believe.
