Well, we all knew there was something going on. Ultimately the fate of every college program is in the hands of 18-21 year olds. Hope he gets his crap together.

I just hope he's improved his pass blocking. He runs like a kid with a chip on his shoulder.

^This I think with some hard concentrated practice on his part he will become a good blocker. It's something that hasn't been asked of him. He has the rest of the spring and all summer to improve. He will be fine. He does run like a man child though he has that going for him and he is a good receiver.

We all misstep and sometime we get a second chance and sometimes we do not. Mr. Lane you have gotten a second chance, use it wisely and help yourself and the team out. If that is not the choice you make, in a while you can read on VN, opinions of what you would have done.....had you chosen to be a part of this team.

Good grief folks. A disciplinary issue isn't the end of the world and this early on it can certainly be corrected.

He could be having issues in his personal life w/family, friends, or a girlfriend which are causing him to have an issue with his attitude and not giving his all. When things get toxic off the field a person can become someone who just drains the energy out of everyone else because they're down and angry. That's why coaches worry about attitude -- it has little to do with smarting off and more to do with whether a player has started to spread his mood to others.

Or for all we know, Lane went on Spring Break and had too good of a time like every other college kid and so failed a test. (I'm speculating here so please don't take that as gospel). A lot of guys don't realize how long that junk can stay in your system and depending on your body weight and metabolism mj can be detected for weeks after use.

Or for all we know, it was just lot of little things that added up and it was more a decision to let Lane cool off and figure stuff out so he could come back better than ever.

At any rate, it's not the end of the world and right now is the time to deal with issues whether they're big or small. Hopefully it's something small and it's set to right soon.

I like this actually. It really does set the tone and let's players know they can't push CBJ over just because they are the predicted starter.

Lane will get his head together! This is his time to shine and he knows that this is his last shot to prove he is NFL worthy. CBJ is just getting the message sent to him before the season so hopefully he will learn before then.

Good grief, people. He's not kicked off the team, just out for the Spring. Hopefully he comes back in August with a different perspective.

Real discipline instead of the silliness that Dools, Kiffin and even Fulmer allowed during their regimes. Just points to the need for quality depth. Which is what CBJ/staff are attempting to resolve and why they need 3 RB's in the next recruiting class. Looks like Jabo will even get a shot if he gets in school (not suggesting anything).

Honestly, Lane and Neal have both failed to show they can get any yardage on their own in a game. Im sure someone can step up and keep getting the yards the oline is giving them. Been a long time since weve had an above average RB. Time for someone to step up and be the next Travis Stephens.
