Marlon Brown

I think we need to stop getting so upset over Marlon Brown. Who knows what kind of college player he turns out to be? He could be a total bust. I've learned that 4*'s, 5*s, etc. doesn't really mean a whole lot in most cases. There are exceptions though, but I'm not convinced this guy is going to be that great.

Can anyone say, "PatrickTurner"?

Is that so? then it must just be a really crazy coincidence that the teams competing for national championships just so happen to be the teams that are getting the most 5*s and 4*s...

I judge a recruit by how hard we go after them and we went after gym incredibly hard. It was the first thing kiff did as coach

Dealing with the UGA choads on rivals has made me elevate my hatred of all things bulldog.

C M R took a copy of "The Meat Market" and gave it to
Marlon Brown's grandmother and suggested she read it.
Told her that he was shocked that a coach would talk to
his players in that manner. All the while pointing out
the difference in how CEO was in the book compared to
him.

Said he didn't know what else they could have done. If a guardian tells someone they are not allowed to go to a certain school there was just not much they could do.

Also said look out for Nukeese and Marasalius to make early impacts next year.

Sounds like MR at least did his homework and realized what fit in well with Grandma...

We'll just wait and see if he is happy. Could be good for the kid sounds like granny was a bit too controlling.

I have NO idea. I just got a call and was asked what did Ed Orgeron say to Marlon Brown? I replied I didn't know what he was talking about. Richard replied: "Marlon Brown was just interviewed live on the Chris Vernon show-730AM, Memphis- and was asked why he didn't choose UT?" Marlon said "Tennessee disrespected me". Vernon asked how. Marlon said "Coach Orgeron did it." He wouldn't respond further, prompting the call I noted.
I just received a call from a friend at Harding Academy, which is a strict Church of Christ school, saying that the grandmother smelled alcohol on Orgeron's breath while Ed visited Harding. I'm just posting what I was told. My question is, was, "Was the grandmother really at Harding to smell alcohol on Ed's breath or is that just a rumor put out by Georgia folks, negative recruiting. I'm a BIG fan of Orgeron and don't think we would have gotten Marlon anyway, evidently, as the grandmother was sold on Mark Richt.
I just received another call from an avid UT fan, a Harding graduate whose good friend is youth minister at White St. Church of Christ, who said that Mark Richt really used the religious card on her, practically saying that he would have religious services before every ball game(his words, not mine) and that Ed Orgeron on the in house visit used words, not necessarily curse words, which were offensive to the grandmother. Again, again, I'm sick, depressed, upset, that we lost Marlon and think we would have lost him to Georgia anyway but....................
from another board.

I think Brown will be a fine player and I hated to lose him, so don't take this as sour grapes, but he better keep his nose clean at UGA considering all the religious cards that have been played.

If true, sounds like his grandmother is the true influence here. I would be willing to bet that MB doesnt have off field trouble with a background like this.

I love it he picked UGA partly for religious reasons... Athens has more debauchery on a game day than any other school in the SEC, save maybe LSU
