Marlon Brown

This is interesting. I wonder what he would've said. This isn't Coach O's first rodeo. Oh well... Marlon apparently still gets his rear end wiped by Grandma so enjoy the craphole that is Athens.

yeah go look at ktown"dump" then go look at athens my friend :lolabove::lolabove::lolabove:

Been to both ... the ONLY thing that Athens has going for it is that it's close to Atlanta. It's about 1/10 as big as Knoxville. Don't get me wrong ... I'm not about to say that Knoxville is a great city ... but when you compare it to trash, then it looks better.

yeah right, i'm from tn and believe me there is nothing pretty to look in ktown. now the smokies are:rock: a different story

Very interesting. The guy that interviewed Marlon Brown was shocked that Brown came on ESPN and said Coach O came at him the wrong way. Apparently UGA and Ohio St was his bottom 2. UT was 3rd in the end. Whatever Coach O said, according to Brown turned him and his Grandmother off. This kid must have really thin skin. Not sure how that would have worked out anyways. Oh well.

Yeah, well that's definitely true about the beauty of the city ... unless you consider hundreds of homeless people as being attractive. I guess I was just referring to the fact that I think there are more things to do in Knoxville overall. I just hate small towns ... Athens, Starkville, Auburn, etc... only been to Athens once. Maybe I just saw the dingy areas.

You don't like Rack em' Willie??

What I have heard is that his girlfriend was going to Georgia and if that is the truth there is no wonder that was his choice. We all were young once and we know how these thing influence young men. When he gets older he will probably wish he would have went to UT.

in case anyone wants to hear the audio for themselves I didn't see the link anywhere.

I heard it and I'm not pleased.

so Orgeron wasn't his favorite guy...why does he have to take a shot at our program and our staff?

I don't like him making excuses on why he went to an out of state squad. he told the radio people we finished 3rd. the guy visited our campus 4 days earlier and he wore white and red to the basketball game.

go to splash cast and pull the tab to about 1:45

it's at the bottom and it should be the top clip.

We probably already have a better one in James Green. He's got better hands and he can outjump Marlon.

James Green can jump out of the gym and Marlon got scorched versus a smaller guy in the state title game. I realize he doesn't project to be a DB, but it's a 50/50 ball and he has to get it. He just looks pitiful on this play. With his size advantage, he simply gets beat by a guy who out-hustles him.

Yeah, after seeing that small white guy beat him on a jump ball I'm less worried about losing him.

MARLON BROWN IS NOT THAT GREAT!

GET OVER IT! good lord. see....patrick turner.

You can check for yourself... but I said several weeks ago I'd rather have Teague than Brown. USCw saw him in camp and quickly lost interest... the team that signed Patrick Turner...

Brown seems like a decent kid and he'll probably make a decent WR... but losing him is less than half as important as losing Phillips or getting J Jackson and Nuke.

From GoVolsXtra.com:
“Me and him had a disagreement on a subject. That was it,” said Brown, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound Parade All-American who signed Wednesday with Georgia over Tennessee, Ole Miss and Ohio State.

Moments after his signing, Brown told KQPN-AM that “Coach O came at me the wrong way. He had said a couple things to me and my family, and it wasn’t happening.”

Brown went on to say in the interview that his grandmother, who was heavily involved in his recruitment, “was definitely turned off by it.”

Hmmmmmmmm..... Where had I heard this before?

I live in Memphis and have dinner with an assistant coach from Harding Academy (Marlon's High School) once a week. He told me that Marlon's grandmother had a real problem with Coach O during his in home visit ....especially his use of profanity. He told me that when the CEO was leaving, he was told that he should not expect to speak to Marlon that way next year, if he was to end up in Knoxville.

The strong Christian environment at Georgia has been a major positive for the Bulldogs in his recruitment as well.

OOOhhhh That's right! I tried to tell you knuckleheads about this over a week ago.

No respect I tell ya! GoVols87 and Sudden Impact, in yo face. No trolls here.

CLK said it himself. Some kids don't like the energy the staff has. We'll lose some because of this and we'll win some because of this. Time to move on. Best wishes to MB not to GA.

there was alot of speculation, going on about Marlon Brown, which was mostly untrue, which led to alot of skeptecism. surely you can appreciate that.

There's no excuse for using profanity in a kid's living room. If this is true, it's gotta stop now.

1. He was in Memphis. You'll probably hear much worse language at the local mall or highschool football game.

2. Doubt he did it.

3. I've seen CMR drop the F bomb on National TV.

4. We were never in it.

5. So friggin what.

6. We had a terrible year last year.

7. Rumor has it his sweetie is going to UGa.

If you read on it says he never cussed. Let it die people. Marlon said that he didn't use profanity.

EXACTLY. Coach O probably just put Marlon in his place and shot down his ego. But, I seriously doubt that O walked in and said, "How you MFers doing?" ...

Probably refused to guarantee a starting position. Said he would have to fight for it just like everyone else and everything he gets in life. One of the recruiting services said one of Marlon's weaknesses was a killer instinct and drive. Those two things just do not mix. We should drop it.

Whatever happened between O and Marlon is over and done with. O is considered one of the best recruiters in the nation. He lost a kid, it's not the end of the world. He will land us several top notch players in the future.
Marlon is now a Dawg, let it go.

Happy that you got one right. You are still a toe tapping bathroom whistling stall sitting troll.

In yo face....hahaha, are we in 3rd grade now. I got a good laugh out of that and brought back some good memories. Thank you for that.

Mark Richt might be a good, nice, caring guy, but as a former athlete I can't imagine wanting to play for someone who's motto is "Do less with more". I think he could possibly only be outdone by Fulmer in getting top rated talent in only to flounder away and not live up to reasonable expectations.

I hope some of you grow up one day. I hope none of you complain about rival fans and their behavior in the future. This thread is despicable and shows that we have some utter pricks in our fanbase.

He wasn't ever going to come to UT.
