Marlon Brown

Tom Lemming has Marlon as the number 1 WR in the class of 2009, and he knows what he is talking about. Marlon was interviewed by him and he said that his top 3 are Tennessee, LSU, and Ohio State with Notre Dame and Florida not far behind. He said I really like Tennessee and Ohio State right now. I think we land this guy. If we don't then he will go to Ohio State and I would love that too. Imagine Terrelle Pryor and Marlon at OSU or Tajh Boyd and Marlon at Tennessee.

Here's a link to a video of the Lemming/Brown interview

Marlon wants to go to UGA, let him go. We need Moses, White, Hicks, & Boyd. I would take Logan Thomas over Brown.

I like Logan Thomas too, however i do not think they translate the same to the next level, Brown is an in state guy, would love to seem him in orange

Don't get me wrong, if Brown wants to come sign him. But i look at Brown as a want not a need. I think there are other players out there that are more beneficial to UT than Brown. I think alot of people think we have to get Brown because he's an in state kid that's highly rated. I don't really see WR as a position of need. I think we have guys that just need to be developed a little more. I mean look at what Denarius Moore has done when given the chance. Ahamd Paige is another that should be getting PT.

Thank you. He is an athletic kid playing against 5'8 scrawny 500 kid private school cornerbacks.

Yea, if the likes of USC, Ohio State, Georgia, and Florida want him, then why on Earth would we need this guy? Our offense is already solid, and with our depth at WR this guy is definitely a want, not a need. Heck, he probably wouldn't get playing time until after his fourth season, when he is a red-shirt senior.

Well USC did back out on him so he's obviously not that good. I mean come on, they're only USC.

I did notice where Brown dropped down on the Rivals Top 100 list. He was something like 14 and is now 57. He also dropped to a 4 star from 5. Not that stars mean everything, but he must have dropped for a reason. I heard he had a terrible camp at USC.

of course he isnt, thats why every major school in the nation has offered a scholly.

it all depends on where u play. if he played against some competition then he wouldnt have the numbers that he has. they play poor teams and i mean poor. they arent even in the major private school division anymore. they left because they were getting dominated by the other major private schools. A list like MUS, ECS, ST. BENEDICT, BRIARCREST, CHRISTIAN BROTHERS. i mean anyone his size and decent speed could dominate his league. they played the best team in their division last friday and he didnt do anything. read down about 3/4 of the way and see what he said. if hes so great then he wouldve found a way to get the ball in his hands and make a difference. something like a option or a quick crossing route or a screen. because once someone of his "excellence" gets the ball then they should be able to make game changing plays. heres the article

wow, thanks for the info.

"I am going to visit Florida (1-10), LSU (1-24) and Tennessee (1-31)," Brown said. "Tennessee gets the last crack."

Brown, 6-5 and 205 pounds, has already officially visited Georgia and Ohio State. With two in the books does he have a leader?

"No, not yet. It's down to those five schools and I am wide open right now.

.

"Right now I am talking to all the basketball coaches at all of these schools as well and I am trying to get a good feel for them as well. I know I can't really go wrong because all of these schools and coaches really stand out to me. I just need to figure out what school is best for me and where I feel the most comfortable."

Has there been any word on Brown's reaction to the coaching news? I know he isn't announcing until signing day, which means we will have a new coach in place. My buddy who is a big UGA fan seems to think that even before the Fulmer news that Brown was leaning towards UGA, and that the coaching change may solidfy that.

Brown said he got the news and said he knew it was coming soon. He then confirmed that his final visit will be UT. New coach def does not effect him negatively and if anything, could become a positive.

Agreed:zeitung_lesen:

If we can hold onto Stokes and get Brown then we are in good shape at WR. Boyd's commitment helps us out with Brown more than keeping CPF IMO. Of course if hire a bad coach then all bets are off.
