Marlon Brown

I am not sold on this guy, I like the other guy Reuben(Spelling?) and Ray Ray but guess we are not as likely to land those guys. But, I would be excited if we got him anyway. Beggers cannot be choosers or something like that.

Same here. There are much better WR's in this class, but you can't lose the top instate player. If we lost him I wouldn't be upset, and if we get him I wouldn't be upset either. I'm sure he'll be good one day, but he looks like he has a lot to learn.

I would say that the final rankings are more accurate towards the top rated players. He will be a good player wherever he goes, it just won't be year 1, IMO.

I don't think he'll make a quick impact either. Just like I didn't think Chris Donald would do anything untill his 2nd or 3rd year on campus, still waiting patiently for now.

Yeah, but 4.7 isn't good for a WR. Also, he doesn't play good competition in his division. I'm just saying, he's probably gonna drop, but I still wouldn't mind getting him.

But if the fastest time at a USC camp(full of elite athletes) was a 4.57, then what would you expect from Brown. He isn't known to be a burner.

That is very true...whether he's a 4* or 5*, he's one of, if not the highest rated player in the state and we can't continue to lose these guys (ie. Patrick Turner)

I am even more surprised Turner didn't go to Tennessee because his uncle or cousin, not sure which one, went to UT in NC years. His name was Kurston Biggers I think. He is the weight trainer for BA

No kidding! If we can't get big time players in our state with ties to the program, then we're in trouble...Having said that, I know we're not to get every single one, but we've been missing out on too many lately.

But Bigger's was a back up and may have steered Turner to USC, I don't know. Those are the guys we have to get though, I agree. In-states, with ties to us.

If we can get Brown and E. Gordon, that would be two really good gets. Anyone know who's recruiting these two??

Actually, I think Slade is going after Gordon, but I could be wrong. I think your right about Clawson.

Why because TN turns out so many big-time recruits? If we lose someone that could have the impact of John Henderson I might complain but not here.

Understood, but unfortunately we don't know ahead of time the kind of impact they will have.

what do you know that I don't in the grand scheme of recruiting?:fool:

for one, its not "queer" to do that(how old are). Certain coaches get to know and built relationships in certain areas. I would rather have Stan Drayton recruiting a LB down in Florida than Chavis. I'd rather have Latrell Scott going after a RB from Virginia. I doubt you know who any of those guys are since you didn't know who Adkins was.
