ould be surprised if he left after 1 season especially considering the talent we have coming back. In addition, I would think he would give some thought to what he to Stokes when he recruited him. Time to open our wallet and pay the man what it takes to keep him.

Agreed...we can give him the money if we want to, and I think he earned it with the job he was able to do with our team this year.

I guess we all need to:popcorn:

This would be the final straw for thus athletic programs 10 year Reign of Hell. If it happens, I'm buying into the theory that we are cursed by the sports gods.

Considering we got a committ today I find this a little odd.

Sadly, signing a recruit really means nothing. He has to recruit as no guarantee he gets the job. If he does the recruit could be released or follow him to Ill. Demarcus Cousins was going to Memphis but followed Calipari to UK.

Personally, I don't trust any coaches, it is more about them and money than loyalty. If he leaves I hate it for UT and our conference.

Over/under 1:00AM for the "If Martin leaves we should call Bruce to rescue us" thread.

I was surprised to hear Kiffin left, but ten seconds later it was no surprise.

Martin leaving would be shocking to me.

I know what you're saying I just take CCM a the type that wouldn't do that to a recruit. As also mentioned, wouldn't do that to Stokes.

Hopefully he doesn't prove me wrong. A statement from him would be nice.

Been a lot of people on here say Hart isnt afraid to write a big check. Guess we are gonna find out. Coach Zo is gonna get a raise or he'll be coaching in the Big Ten imo

If he leaves, I'm driving to Knoxville and climbing the Gay St bridge. You'll have to talk me down. Good luck.

Kiffin and Martin are complete opposites in so many ways.

Martin took this job knowing that Purdue had a possible opening coming up.

He's not leaving after one year to take a rival's job. Illinois ain't a dream job like Kiffin for USC.

I don't know if there is any truth to the "sources" or not,but it is out there. What concerns me and makes me believe it may be true is that of all the coaches such as Smart, the Wichita St coach, etc., why would CM name come up?

I hope he makes a statement, but hell, you can't believe that half the time. They can be negotiating behind the seens......and what else would he say?

I really like Martin and if he leaves it is a real pisser for UT and the conference....our loss too.

Illinois is B1G basketball, sew up Chicago recruits and you contend.

My worry after reading that article is that supposedly ccm has had talks with a community college coach who was a former Illinois player who he'd like to join his staff.

If true thats very alarming. Also odd that this all occurred in less than 24 hours. CCM loses to MTSU and then is on the horn with Illinois??? Seriously???

Ugh.
