My worry after reading that article is that supposedly ccm has had talks with a community college coach who was a former Illinois player who he'd like to join his staff.

If true thats very alarming. Also odd that this all occurred in less than 24 hours. CCM loses to MTSU and then is on the horn with Illinois??? Seriously???

Ugh.

No way. I'm not buying.

Call me a optimist, but I'm not buying this.

Nothing to worry about IMO.

Just smoke and mirrors. He's not even choice #1 or #2 anyways.

Supposedly Shaka isn't going though. He wants entirely too much money supposedly.

Time will tell. Until I hear something definitive I will not feel good about this.

I hope there is no truth to it, but Illinois may be or used to be a top 10 job in college basketball.

Tubby Smith supposedly has high morals and negotiated with Minnesota behind UK's back. I trust none of them. Granted Tubby could smell the coffee, but that is beside the point.

Because UK was right behind his back ready to fire him first.

We'll see. I just don't see Martin leaving after one year. Would go against his character and what he said. And I trust him.

The only thing that concerns me is that we can't even complete an entire year without some bomb being dropped on our athletic department, real or dud. It really bothers me that he's even mentioned, altbough I'm usually in the "wait and see" camp.

Shaka is in a unique position. Similar to Brad Stevens. He is very happy being at a small school with little pressure and tons of built-up equity. They pay him well, and it allows him to command a high price to prospective schools. If someone wants to pay him 3.5 million dollars, fine. If not, he is happy where he is. He has said it before; if it were about the money, he'd be gone. It's just not all about money for him and his family.

LOL... Zing... and very true. :) I remember driving down Brainerd Rd. here in Chatt. several years ago and seeing a window decal ad on the back of a guy's F150 that said "www.firetubbysmith.com" Pure gold. :)

Which is why I worry Illinois is past him and now looking hard at CCM.

When it comes to coaches switching boats, I only believe it if the person who is reporting the coach is leaving is reporting from the city the coach is in.

So if a Knoxville source reports it I'll believe it.

Also, im sure by the tags they put on this that it absolutely totally was not done just to promote ratings...

Every since Lane Kiffin pulled his stunt, I have hoped and prayed that karma comes his way and his ole lady pulls the train for the entire USC team.

If this was the Purdue job i'd be worried but its not CCM isn't leaving this isn't mike anderson going back to his roots in Arkansas...its one of purdue's biggest rivals he wouldn't take that job...Keady taught him a lot better than that....a lot of vol fans stress themselves out over little stuff
