Martin Offense vs Pearl Offense

maybe an aggressive baserunner or something that builds momentum but you can't be fired up at the plate, unless you know one pitch is coming and can sit on it. Otherwise, 3 offspeed pitches to an angry or fired up hitter is an easy fix.

I said "lit a fire in us" not we were fired up. By lit a fire in us I am talking about being determined to achieve a goal. Not jumping around chest bumping and that bs.

Hypothetically, if that team made it to the final four or won it all would everything have played out the same way? I'm not sure, but rolling over and getting crushed by 30 certainly made the decision easier.

These are college kids( hard to motivate anyways) that learned their coach was being fired the night before a big game. Do you honestly believe they were fired up to play a basketball game?

This been confirmed or much like i said about Dooley staying had he beaten Vanderbilt?

Winning cures a lot, I have a feeling Hamilton would at least think twice if Pearl had won the national championship.

He pretty much said that in his idiotic interview but I guess he could have changed his mind.

Yes winning cures a lot which is why we should bring him back....he is a winner.

Now that you agree we need him to win a national championship. Welcome aboard.

I'm all for bringing him back, just am one of the few rational ones who realize there's a better chance of Phil Jackson coaching at Tennessee than Bruce Pearl.

Lofton's unrevealed illness did as much to mess up the Vols' shooting numbers than anything else that last year. Can you imagine CCM's setup beating some #1's, coming within a shot of making the final 4 or, heaven forbid, actually attaining #1 status, if even for a week during the regular season? Bruce won out over more talented teams by out X & O-ing some really good coaches---and those boys were always fun to watch. Plus, think about the noisy packed TBA during his "days." If Meeks doesn't go meek on us, then Bruce should be the most logical choice for bringing back some excitement in TBA, other than a very good Lady Vols group. Who can name a better HC who'd even think of coming to UT to coach?

I don't think you'll hear anyone argue that Zo is a better coach than Pearl. I don't think I've seen anyone arguing that.

Many, many posters continue to down play CBP's successes here and make asinine comparisons between the two coaches (CBP and CCM) (for example see BTO's post earlier in the thread).

My point is that there is simply no comparison to be made. CBP is hand's down a proven winning successful coach and hands down a better coach than CCM.

I've never suggested otherwise, if your sarcasm meter is broke head to wal mart.

Many assume that Pearl would come back if asked. He wouldn't.
And the point is moot because they are NOT going to ask.
